RESEARCH INTERESTS

Since my MS I have been involved in CARBONATE SEDIMENTOLOGY and I performed

different geochemical analyses. My ongoing research includes origin and development of the
Devonian carbonate conical mounds (Morocco) informally called Kess Kess with particular
emphasis for the role of hydrothermal circulation. I performed geochemical analyses such as
Raman spectroscopy, SEM-EDX, ICP-MS and studied the stable isotope compositions of the
Devonian CARBONATES. At ISMAR-CNR I am involved in the geochemical and petrographic
study of hydrothermal and HYDROCARBON RELATED CARBONATES in the Apennine.
Currently I am preparing a paper about REE in Devonian conical mounds: “Rare Earth Elements
pattern in ancient mound limestones: beyond the classical view of the Kess Kess carbonate mounds
(Anti-Atlas, Morocco)”.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES

July 2013: LOCAL ORGANIZER of the workshop and field seminar “Carbonate conduits linked
to hydrocarbon-enriched fluid escape”, Bologna, June 28th– July 1st 2013.
From November 2012 until now: research fellow at CNR-ISMARN U.O.S. Bologna:
“GEOCHEMICAL AND PETROGRAPHIC STUDY OF CARBONATE CONDUITS LINKED
TO HYDROCARBON-ENRICHED FLUID ESCAPE”.

From 2011 until now: collaboration in the field work, geotechnical analysis and data elaborations
for geo-engineering purposes (GEOLOGICAL REPORTS).

February 2012: laboratory class for undergraduate students of Natural Sciences (15 hours):
microscopy techniques applied to palaeontology.

From November 2011 until March 2012: Visiting period at Department of Geology at University
of Johannesburg in collaboration with Dr. B. Cavalazzi. MicroProbe, SEM/EDS and XRF analysis,
ICP-MS analysis for REE detection (GEOCHEMISTRY).

INFORMATIC COMPETENCES

Very good knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, Access),
Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Outlook Express, Suite Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator and
Acrobat reader), Suite ArcGis (ArcView, ArcMap, ArcSene, ArcCatalog), QGis.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Unmarried, with many experiences in Europe and outside the European community. I developed
organizing skills during the University years in a student association collaborating with foreign
associations (France, Spain, Belgium and Germany) and Italian istitutions.
