DP Survey Checklist for installation of new DP system on old vessel This checklist is to be used by Kongsberg Simrad when an old vessel is surveyed for lity for DP installation. Make a report with reference to this list. 1 What types of vessel, get GA drawings if possible. 2 Are there any sensors that can be used, type of sensor and type of interface/signals (Gyro, VRS and Wind). 3 Are there any reference systems that can be used, type of system and type of interface/signals (DGPS, HPR.... etc. ) 4 Do they have any Joystick system installed. 5 What type of thrusters are installed, and configuration. (Any special informetion we need to know). 6 What type of thruster signals can be interfaced to the DP (Command, Feedback and Ready signals)? 7 Is it possible to modify “Command transfer switch” with an additional DP position? 8 Is there spare input for DP command in the thruster electronic unit? 9 diesel, are there any fuel rack reading that can be interfaced to DP. 10 How to interface power plant. (Signals and configuration). 11 Ifrudder, how is it possible to interface (Command, Feedback and Ready signals)? 12 What type of rudder are installed onboard (Becker or spade / syne or asynchronous)? 13 Where can the DP system be installed (Location of OS / DPC)? 14 Are there any cables prepared for Input Output signals to the DP? 15 How and where to run new additional cables? 16 Are 24Volt DC and/or 220Volt AC ship supply available 17 General: How is the general impression of the vessel, is the thruster / propulsion system well maintained. Any problem with the power plant. (Problems with load share, lower rated then specification... etc.)
