SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON - 3 NOVEMBER, 2019.

Topic: Joy And Contentment Through Christ.

Memory Verse: Philippians 4:11 - I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content (KJV).

Lesson Text: Philippians 4:1-23.

Lesson Central Truth: In every circumstance, Christians can count on God's faithfulness.

Lesson Focus: To appreciate the contentment gained in serving Christ and rejoice in His blessings.

Introducing The Lesson:

Joy is one of the central themes of Paul's letter to Philippians. But the joy he described is not found in
the excitement of good fortune nor is it linked to the situations or circumstances of a person's life.
Rather, it is uniquely Christian.

True Christian Joy is found in God alone. It is a delight in the Lord and the wonderful contentment that
accompanies His presence. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22).

Paul repeatedly encouraged the Philippians to rejoice in the Lord (Philippians 3:1; 4:4). When we rejoice
in the Lord, we will be drawn together in unity. Christian joy is also a marvelous cure for anxiety. In
addition, the joy of the Lord can bring contentment into even the most difficult situations.

Joy that the world can never know is found only in Christ. True joy rests on God's faithfully. Paul
described such joy in his letter to the Philippians.

Action Word - As believers, we must not become entangled in the cares of this world. They will rob us of
our joy, leaving us anxious and confused. Yet we do face very real concerns every day: physical,
economic, emotional, and spiritual struggles. But whatever the problem, the solution is found in humbly
submitting our needs, our cares, and our anxieties the One who can supply the answer, the Lord Jesus
Christ.

We look forward to answer your questions from the lesson. Always make your contributions for the
benefit of everyone to learn and grow in faith.

Remain blessed as you join us to study in our Sunday school at any Assemblies Of God Church close to
you by 8AM every Sunday.

Shalom!
