PROCESS DESCRIPTION

The blenders are washed and flushed thoroughly with demineralized water. The circulation pump is to be switched
off. Demineralized water is pumped to the 400l mixing vessel, followed by the Phosphoric Acid, for the dilution of
phosphoric acid. Circulation begins to make the solution more uniform. Calcium Hypochlorite is then added to the
vessel, creating a very mild exothermic reaction between Calcium Hypochlorite and Phosphoric acid. Speed of the
pump is increased to enhance the mixing, and is kept for blending for two hours to prepare a 400kg batch. After
blending, the mixture would consist of a mixture of Aqueous Hypochlorous acid and Calcium Phosphate.

FILTRATION

After blending, the mixture is sent to the filtration unit which consists of four 10-micron filter bags which are
connected in parallel and two 5-micron cartridge filters which are connected in series.

STORAGE

The liquid that is obtained after passing through the second 5-micron cartridge filter is the final product. This
product is pumped from the filtration unit to the storage drums. The storage drums should be preferably black
(more chlorine stable) and made of HDPE (for chemical resistance).
