More contact points equals more stability

Corrugation gives us more contact points

Uniform repetitive shapes give more strength to a structure,
without the added weight of being a solid structure

Because of the direction of the corrugation in cardboard, it

has more strength in one direction than the other. The black
lines are the ridges in the cardboard. The red spot is
something really heavy. The cardboard will bend along the
green line. The pink line is a much stronger line.
This means if we layer our cardboard, we want to alternate
the sheets with the going in different directions.
