The horns 

 
Once upon a time,There was a girl named Haley. Haley was only ten. And Haley had two 
sisters Camille and Kasey. Camille was 18 and Kasey was 16. Still in drivers ed. Camille and 
Kasey picked on her...But not too much. And her parents “Rick” and “Linzy” planed  to go to 
Akaidia nationinal park to hike.  
They drove for about 30 minutes, until of course they made it there. They rented a Hotel 
room, then they got in a hikeing mood...The family starts to hike... They have been hiking for 
about an hour now and Haley needs to rest, She sits on a rock saying she will catch up. She 
takes takes a sip of water and she herd a sound...It sounded like...Horns! She puts her water 
back in her backpack and listened closer. The sound get louder and louder. Haley started in to 
the woods and ran ran ran, But the sound only got louder no matter what way she ran she still 
herd it get louder. Until she stopped… 
She saw a horse shape thing on a far away mountain...Haley rubbed her eyes, And 
thought she was dreaming that did’nt work so Haley tryed pinching herself…”Nope im not 
dreaming” Haley said. She wished she was beacause she was lost. Soon it began to be suset, 
And she needed to find shelter. As haley wakes up the horse thing is still on the mountain! Haley 
needed to go invesdigate. Haleys parents are getting worried and call the police. Haley hears 
the horn again but does’nt run. Haley starts hiking up the mountain until she finds out its a 
unicorn makeing the sound! Haley crept up and says “hello” The unicorn understood Haley, And 
some how she just knew the unicorn was saying hello back! 
It was’nt a talking unicorn of corse...But Haley could just sence it. The unicorn makes the 
sound again, It freightens Haley but she does’nt run. Haley goes up to pet the unicorn but when 
she tryed it swooped her on to its back then starts to run! I runs to her frount step. It puts it snout 
by her ear says thank you, Then it was gone… 
She could’nt beleive what just happened to her. She builds up the curage and knocks on 
the door her mom answers, But her mom is’nt looking because shes on the phone calling the 
police to get help finding Haley, While putting up her pointer finger telling her to wait then 
Haley’s mom hangs up and makes eye contact...Haleys mom is silent for a few seconds...She 
picks up Haley and hugs her harder than she ever has befor! Haleys mom  brings Haley in to 
bed, Kisses Haley on the head and says “goodnight” then says “ill wait for tomarrow to show the 
rest of the family that shes back.
