Electrical Engineer - Low Voltage

ABB Engineering Centre in Ostrava (CZOPC) is the ABB global engineering center for Process
Automation Division. We have more than 200 employees who provide engineering services for ABB
business units throughout the whole Europe. Our service portfolio includes electrical engineering,
drives, automation software, SW development, mechanical design, IT systems and security, LV
hardware and supply chain management (SCM).

Tasks

As an electrical engineer in CZOPC you will work with design and detailed engineering of ABB electrical and automation
systems. Our LV engineers produce technical documentation such as circuit diagrams, cable lists, terminal strip diagrams
etc. using design tools like ePLAN, Electrical Base, E3 or AutoCad. You will also be involved in internal testing and
sometimes go to end-customers site for installation supervision, testing and commissioning. Our customers deliver
systems to metal, petrochemical and pulp and paper factories, mining industry, oil and gas platforms, ships etc. You will
mainly work from Ostrava, with business trips to customers and suppliers as required.

Responsibilities:
• Design, specification and documentation of LV electrical system solutions according to requirements
• Electrical system studies (short circuit, relay settings etc.)
• Technical clarification with sub-suppliers and end-customers
• Assist in preparing technical part of quotations
• Commissioning on end customer site
• Participate proactively in project teams
• Contribute with creative ideas in order to develop solutions that keeps pace with technology and market trends
• Produce technical documentation in accordance with ABB’s and end-customers’ requirements

Requirements

• Appropriate electrical education, Bachelor/Master degree in electrical engineering preferred


• Knowledge of LV industrial el. distribution and equipment
• Knowledge of design tools such as ePLAN, Electrical Base, E3 or AutoCad is an advantage
• Experience within industry segments and knowledge of ABB products is an advantage
• Know-how with regard to product design engineering, technical documentation, installation, completion and
commissioning is an advantage
• Candidates without work experience will also be evaluated
