We are good friends, But more than a good friend, Cindy is a committed educator and a partner in our service to the community. fy and | have always “talked shop” when we get together and pondered what it would be like to work with each other sometime. From our conversations and discussions, | knew Cindy had a wealth of knowledge. When the opportunity to work together became an option in a small charter district run by BakerRipley, we jumped on it, Hiring Cindy as my Academic Dean is the best thing poe! saldivar that I did for BakerRipley Elementary, part of Promise Community Schools. fae cern ees Cindy was able to quickly assess some of the shortcomings in the previously-implemented Cindy ellzondo bilingual program on campus, among other matters that lacked appropriate systems to not only be in compliance, but to effectively accomplish our goals. Because of the nature of this charter network, Cindy has had to wear many hats on our campus. She does so brilliantly. Whenever there is an issue that she does not have a solution for, she reaches out and seeks a solution, using whatever resources and connections she can leverage. Having inherited a school in IR (improvement required), we were able to raise the STAAR scores by double digits in every tested subject and every grade level (except 4th grade writing). Not only did our campus meet Celeste Castillo accountability standards and got out of IR, we managed to receive a B rating.
