The Pacific Route...

First though you might want to read the Captain Norfolk nCook guide to navigation in the Caribbean. This
covers all the basics and how to get around. In the guide I do hint and tell you how to get to the Pacific in
a vague way on purpose.

This Guide there is no vagueness at all. So, spoiler alert if you don’t to know and want to try to discover
the route yourself then stop reading now...

When there I need you to take an [F11] snap shot. I want you to go to these coordinates Latitude -73k,
Longitude -417k and take the picture. This is directly SsE of the PORT Chagres. This is the point where the
Panama Canal will enter the Pacific in the future. Then post the pic...

Your POST something like this...

The Route...

1|Page
Part1 Go to Santo Tome de Guayana [791k, -425k] bottom right of map. Suggest you open an Outpost
there. You need a very fast boat no guns needed. Also need a Tow Permit.

Part2 Go to the start line [820, -400] and face south. In my Guide last line of the summary “and test
things don’t trust what you see at times...” This is the clue. I want you to full sail and travel fixed course
South 180* till the F11 reads [820, -820].

Two things, if you’re at Longitude -400 and target is -820 that’s a quarter full map length. Travel time
1hour is a guess. So, beers loaded. Next is blind faith in Norfolk. Once you start don’t touch the controls
for at least 10 minutes.

What you’ll see is approaching sand banks and palm trees in a fixed East to West line like a wall. You’ll just
sail straight through it. It’s a false wall. Hugging the coast line down is a big mistake and takes longer due
to adjusting due to irregular shallows.

Part3 The Yet Another Map [YTM] can’t register lower than -430 Longitude so keep using the [F11]
numbers. At [820, -820] East is open sea and so is South. Stop and turn directly West. Again, more Norfolk
blind faith as it’s the mountains of Brazil. Target progress [700, -820], [500, -820] ...

Pacific Map

Part4 Travel from Latitude 820 West till 000. This is Half a Full Map length estimated time another 2
hours. So, more beer and a dial a pizza. At [-820, 000] position is where the pacific starts. However, it’s all
shallows and terrible to get around.

Continue on to [-25, -820] then turn NnW and head for [-73, -417]. Take pictures etc.
