Learning Diary 14

1. What have I done and who have I met?

● I have worked with the designer and picked our final designs for the project
● I made it to the dragon’s finals!
● I met with Neal with Andrea to talk about our pitch
● I’ve had some conflicts with lilla
● Had Seminar 2 for our business screening
● I’ve created milestone goals for the next year with the business and smart goals for the
far future of Flow

2. Why did I do what I do?

I have worked with the designer because we need to finalize the documents for the printing
company. Andrea and I came together to pick what we want for the cards to look for the first
edition of the game. We have a deadline set so we can get our first edition decks by demo day.

We made it to dragons because we did well in the semi-finals competition! I want to win money
for my idea and it would be absolutely incredible if we could win something.

I met with Neal and Andrea because he offered to give a private session.

I’ve had some conflicts with lilla because we have not only had poor communication in general,
but I have been feeling she has been stepping over some bounds that we originally agreed on
for her engagement in the project.

I went to Seminar 2 on my own since Lilla and Andrea were out of town at the time. I took the
reigns and pitched the idea to my colleagues and got some great feedback from Skandi and Pura
Kombucha.

I created milestone goals with Andrea because it’s important for us to understand our vision of
Flow and the potential it holds. These big goals can help me create something scalable and to
decide what are the best steps to take for the rest of this masters program and to take it further.

3. Observations and reflections in regard to point 1 and 2?

I have realized that I have been thinking small and insecure about the game. I have been letting
conflicts and opinions of coworkers to get in the way of my productivity and belief in the idea.
Now that I have done research and created these goals, I am seeing the potential of my game
reaching an audience and creating a community. I am so excited and liberated to feel the faith I
have in Flow again. Lilla would tell me several times how she isn’t sure if it will be a business,
meanwhile, I have been forgetting that we have her here while it is a project.
I am so glad I was able to discuss my concerns with my teammates and come to understandings
of what they expect. Once I saw what my team feels they will contribute, I’ve accepted the
benefits of this free Human Capital for the business idea. Andrea has finally convinced me that
we are a team going to start a business; that we are business partners and ready to take the
risks to make this something we can make a living on.
Seminar 2 was a great example of why I need to be proud of myself and the steps we have taken
in the development of the idea Flow. My colleagues have amazing input, my advisors have been
incredible to work with, our network is so fruitful of support and possibilities that I am
overwhelmingly excited about taking Flow further.
Making it to dragons finals is an incredible goal for me and I have been telling myself I want to
be the best to pitch! Here is my chance to take on that challenge and gain that check for myself.
I am so proud of the steps and change I have made with this program and couldn’t be happier
about where I am going with this development.

4. Reflections in regard to entrepreneurial theory, linking it with point 3?

My overconfidence and insecurities have been really clashing. I have been so optimistic and
dreamy about my idea, but there have been so many days where I’d run into something I
needed to do, but I was completely ignorant to how to tackle it. Andrea and Lilla’s experience in
business management and marketing have really helped expand my knowledge in how to tackle
the obstacles of entrepreneurship.
I have noticed that I have been gaining trust with many people in the Lund network. I do not
have a track record, but it seems that me as an entrepreneur is enough for people to give me a
chance: in communication, networking, working with events, etc. It is empowering me as I see
people giving the chance to trust in me and doing business with me.
Uncertainty is everywhere and consequences can be overwhelming. The designer we work with
seemed like she’d be more flexible with us, but she hasn’t been as cooperative as we hoped for.
She has been pushing back deadlines and her communication has been terrible. The trust we
need in external bodies cannot be given away too easily. Next time I will be interviewing people
that are not only passionate, but are team players and willing to take orders from me as a
partner who wants the best for this business.

5. What are my goals for next week?

● Compete in dragons and win “Best Pitch”
