ABBREVIATIONS
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
1 inc: singe crochet 2 stitches in the same stitch
1 dec: single crochet 2 stitches together
sl: slip stitch
dc: double crochet

MATERIAL YOU NEED

- Yarn in yellow, green, white, pink and light pink
- 4.50 mm crochet hook (or the size you need depending on your type of yarn)
- Tapestry Needle
- Long doll making needle
- Polyester stuffing
- 10 mm safety eye
- Black embroidery floss

Approximate size of a finished pineapple: 17 cm tall

PINEAPPLE
With yellow yarn
Start with a magic ring
R1: 6 sc into the magic ring
R2: [1 inc] x6 (12)
R3: [1 sc, 1 inc] x6 (18)
R4: [2 sc, 1 inc] x6 (24)
R5: [3 sc, 1 inc] x6 (30)
R6: [4 sc, 1 inc] x6 (36)
R7: 36 sc (36)
R8: [5 sc, 1 inc] x6 (42)
R9-17: 42 sc (9 rounds, 42)
R18: [5 sc, 1 dec] x6 (36)
R19: 36 sc (36)
Now it’s time to attach the safety eye. Put it between row 14 and 15.
Embroid the black mouth and the blinking eye. I used 3 strands of DMC Embroidery floss.
R20: [4 sc, 1 dec] x6 (30)
R21: 30 sc (30)
R22: [3 sc, 1 dec] x6 (24)
R23: 24 sc (24)
R24: [2 sc, 1 dec] x6 (18)
Start stuffing and keep doing that as the hole becomes smaller
R25: 18 sc (18)
R26: In back loops only, [1 sc, 1 dec] (12)
R27: [1 dec] x6 (6)
Sew the hole togheter, but leave a 30 cm long yarn tail.
Use a long doll making needle and push the yarn tail through the top of the pineapple all the
way down trough it’s middle, emerging at the center of the magic ring at the bottom. Pull
the yarn all the way trough, reverse and push the needle back up to the top of the
pineapple. Tighten the yarn a little bit. By doing this your pineappe will be able to stand up.

THE SHORTER GREEN STEM PIECES (make 4, these are going to be the ones on the sides)
With green yarn
Start with a magic ring
R1: 6 sc into the magic ring
R2: 6 sc (6)
R3: [1 sc, 1 inc] x3 (9)
R4-9: 9 sc (6 rounds, 9)
Finish with 1 sl. Cut the yarn but leave a long yarn tail for sewing

THE LONGER GREEN STEM PIECE (make 1, this is going to be placed in the middle)
With green yarn
Start with a magic ring
R1: 6 sc into the magic ring
R2: 6 sc (6)
R3: [1 sc, 1 inc] x3 (9)
R4-11: 9 sc (8 rounds, 9)
Finish with 1 sl. Cut the yarn but leave a long yarn tail for sewing
Now you are going to sew the pieces of the green stem on to your pineapple.
Start with the four shorter ones and sew them on to the sides of the top of your pineapple
one at the time. (See pics on page 6)
When you are done with that take the longer green stem piece and place it in the middle
and sew it on.

CHEEKS (make 2)
With light pink yarn
Make a magic ring
R1: 6 sc into the magic ring (6)
sl in the first sc, fasten off leaving a 10 cm long tail for sewing.
Use a tapestry needle and sew the cheeks to the pineapple.

THE FLOWER
With pink yarn
Make a magic ring
R1: 5 sc into the magic ring (5)
Change to white yarn
R3: do the following in the same stitch 5 times [1 sl, 1 sc, 1 dc, 1 sc, 1 sl] x5
Finish with 1 sl. Weave in the ends. Cut the yarn but leave a long yarn tail for sewing
Sew on the flower to the side of the pineapple.
And you’re done!
