Upgrading AVOX or AVOX 2 to AVOX Evo

This document is for owners of the original AVOX bundle, individual AVOX
plug-ins or AVOX 2. If that's not you, you can stop reading now.

To avoid conflicts with previous versions of AVOX and AVOX 2 plug-ins, you should follow the
uninstallation instructions below and then use the Complete Install to install all 10 AVOX Evo
plug-ins. (Any saved sessions containing the original AVOX and AVOX 2 plug-ins will continue
to perform properly after the upgrade.)

RTAS Uninstall
To remove all original AVOX or AVOX 2 RTAS components:

1. Select the Option to ‘Remove’ the plug-ins using the Windows Control Panel Add or Remove
Programs utility. This will remove the plug-in files from the Digidesign plug-ins folder and will
also remove the additional support files which were installed in the ‘Program Files’ folder on a
Windows PC.

2. If you have manually copied the plug-in files to any additional locations, these files will not be
uninstalled using the Add or Remove Programs utility. Any plug-in files that have been
manually copied to new locations can (and should) safely be deleted.

If you have copied the RTAS plug-in files to multiple folders on your system and are unsure of
where you copied the files, you can search your system using the file name for the plug-in. If,
after using the Add or Remove Programs utility, you locate any of these plug-in files on your
system, you can manually delete them. Here are the original AVOX and AVOX 2 RTAS
component file names:
