Russian Academic Drawing with Iliya Mirochnik

The Russian Academic Drawing Course is a fully immersive online figure drawing
course presented by artist Iliya Mirochnik, a graduate of the Repin Academy of Art
in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Iliya and the participants will work from images of nude
models in a variety of media using Zoom as the collaborative educational platform.
This course focuses on medium length (3-hour) figure drawing technique. Students
begin with quick sketches of the figure and move on to the 3-hour pose over the
course of the class. Iliya Mirochnik will begin the course with a demonstration in
which he will explain the basic methods of working from the model and answer
questions. Participants can work from the images at the same time. After the initial
demonstration, participants will receive images to work from at home and will
reconvene with Iliya on a weekly basis for a month. During these sessions Iliya will
do critiques of and draw-overs on their work and give assignments for the following
week. Reference images will be provided at the beginning of each class.

This may be the first Zoom experience for several of our attendees and we ask for
your patience as everyone is brought up to speed with this new to all us platform. 
The first 15 minutes of each session will be devoted to getting everyone started.

Please be sure to have your charcoal sharpened and ready.  Your paper should be
attached to your drawing board and on your easel behind you facing your webcam.
