Learning Objective(s):
1. Understand the key principles of Sports Science and athletic performance.
2. Learn fundamentals of human anatomy, physiology, sports biomechanics and kinesiology.
3. Understand the winning components of athletic performance.
4. Explore new areas within sport sciences, especially sport technology, equipment, viewer &
audience experience, sport analytics, ergogenic aids, and sport surfaces.
5. Relate all this to real-world situations for sport management professionals.

Pedagogy:
1. Lectures based on slide presentations and handouts supported with relevant tasks or
discussions carried out in smaller groups.
2. During the session use of Visual aids: Power point presentation, Discussions and case
studies will be an integral part of teaching

Pre-learning: Students are expected to do preliminary explorations - reading journals & articles and
watching relevant videos – in the field of sport sciences. There is a lot to learn so any initial self-study
will prove useful.
