The article shows fundamental ideas about 5S.

5S which stands for seiri (organization), seiton


(order), seiso (cleanliness), seiketsu (standardization) and shitsuke (discipline) in Japanese. In addition,
5S whereas helping aid to increase quality and value to business management. According to the article
that 5S supports the organizational integration quite essential for hotels. In addition, the study shows to
understand more the main goal of 5S. Moreover, the article emphasize on how 5S should be apply in
improving service production.

As to the article was a descriptive where it gives factual information on proper management
through the guidance of 5S components. It also defines 5S as a value-oriented business model. As states
that according to the Japanese philosophy, the issues like order and cleanliness are not only important
physically but also mentally. Not only focuses on being organize as part of the 5S components but also
being discipline that helps to enhance individual’s self-discipline for a better self-improvement.

With regards to the findings of the study it highlighted important keys such management
approach, 5S, quality, value. Management approach in organizing strategies and serve as helping hand
for more productive services as to business. 5S as state above, a basic guideline for more improvise
tactics. Furthermore, training for a more proper and effective means in managing employees in business
field through 5S. Furthermore, providing quality and value services to satisfy costumer’s needs.

The study contributes useful information as awareness for producing high quality services. Serve
as a guide for managing and improving business, a concept such as implementing 5S in every workplace.
For instance, organize in improvement of the work environment.

It only focuses on how to utilize 5s and its main purpose, a practice to everyone for
management system as mention before. They emphasize the usage of 5S especially on hotels, on how to
make use of it in satisfying costumer’s need.

For me the study has a potential for future research especially here in the Philippines because
some establishments here are not aware about 5S, except to those already know its use. If they use it as
a reference maybe someday many will have a proper knowledge about management system. As to 5S
components, for example the first one the Seiri or Organization or a process of removing of unnecessary
factors from the work environment which is some here in our country don’t have enough organize
platforms in their workplace . Secondly, the Seiton or Order can be helpful in improving work flow.
Thirdly is Seiso or Cleanliness which is a very important factor especially in the business world.
Cleanliness is the main part for the protection of both human and environment health. Fourthly Shitsuke
or Discipline, a standard factors especially to the employees. Self-discipline is useful to employees in
order to be more productive and responsible for daily works. Lastly, Seiketsu or Standardization is
required for organization, order and cleanliness which are addressed in the first three steps to gain
continuity and for necessary improvements as states on the article. These are some reliable source you
can read on this study and use it in the near future.
