My journey during pandemic covid19

I was having a fine afternoon coffee inside my dormitory room when my

cousin knocked at my door. She entered with this blank looked wearing her messy
uniform. “Classes are suspended” she said. “What? No… not again!” I replayed
with sadness. I was really shocked to hear that, it was suspended last week I
thought everything is fine now. Sam my snow white princess from G12 came in
the room and went straight to her bed and she keep swearing her heart out. After
seconds like that, she starts crying real hard. “I can’t! I don’t like it! No
graduation? Seriously? I have been waiting for it and I have been so excited for
that day to come” she said it repeatedly. No one in the room speaks out until
silence coved the whole room and I fell asleep. The next day we got an instruction
from Sr. Joselin through our matron that “dormitorians should go home to each
respective family to have their safety secured”.

I got really sad and disappointed, I don’t want to go home to Siaton where
there is no wifi, no internet connection how am I get news on what is happening on
my subjects. I felt really sad, I felt like we are forced to leave in my second home.
The next morning some dormitorians are very loud and excited to go home, they
are literally bursting with excitement and joy while packing their bags. I am in the
corridor still thinking what to do next, then my cousin called me. “I have decided
to go home to siaton this afternoon, I don’t know where to go and what to do there
but least secure I will look for ways” she said slowly. “Are you coming with me?”
She asked me. I didn’t know what to say to her, I am speechless because I got my
own plans and I cannot bring her with as well. We’re both have no choice, but to
go separate ways this time. ‘Ahmm, ahhhmm hmmm,’ I don’t know where to start
it seems like it is so heavy for me to tell her the reason. So finally I got an excuse,
“ Inday I can’t go home with you, as you can see I have so many special subject
this semester and I think I will wait ‘till next week to know what are their
requirements. I am staying here in Duma in my friend’s house, I promise you to go
there after this” I explained. She just nod her head.

Clock ticks so fast… there’s an update in the news that we are under ECQ
next Monday for some reasons, like the cases of corona virus all over the world
rises so the government wanted to secure the people so they go for ECQ. I am
thinking that this corona virus is a serious matter and I cannot be lockdown here
without my family and especially I don’t know for how long and how worst it
could get. So I waited the very last day before ECQ to go home. Upon arriving in
the terminal, I saw bunch of people wearing facemask and and at the entance
there’s a hand washing area and thermometer check. I rode the last bus to
Bayawan, I waited more than 1 hour before it went off. Everything is new to me,
the seating arrangement is weird because only 1 person is allowed to sit on the
whole bench it is my first time experiencing the social distancing first hand.
Everyone is wearing facemasks well except for me, I don’t really understood the
brief before leaving. Going the siaton we stopped at 1 stations for a temperature
check and went off.

Upon arriving at Siaton (my house) it is just a breathe of fresh air. Finally I
can do my own things freely and I don’t have to worry anymore because I am with
my family at last.
