PROCEDURE FOR DIESEL GENERATOR

 Material shall be store in dry place.


 All Material received at site shall be inspected and ensured all material as per
drawing.
 Any discrepancies, damage etc. found will be notified and reported take
necessary action.
 Site engineer has to ensure that all equipment’s used at site free from any
damage or dust.
 The unit shall be loaded from the store place on the suitable trailer by suitable
crane or fork lift to shift the respective generator from the room location.
 The unit shall be offloaded near the generator room.
 The unit shall be shifted on the respective foundations by the suitable loader,
which the unit will taken from outside to inside.
 Proper care to secure the units, while above shifting loading/unloading as well
place shall be carried out with most care and precaution required.
 Pre delivery inspection shall be performed at manufacture plant.
 Prior to start the installation, site Engineer has to ensure that material
received at site as per drawings.
 The nameplate will be checked against the name plate date sheet to conform
the unit.
 Ensure the all the civil works completed, for the area including floor paint to
carry out the installation.
 Installation procedures are be followed as per the manufacture
recommendations.
 Installation works shall be carried out only with respect to the approved shop
drawings.
 Site Engineer has to ensure that the orientation of the DG set Exhaust duct
and fuel pipe installation shall comply with relevant cause of specification as
per manufacture recommendation.
 Alternator neutral terminal and body shall be connected with external earth as
per approved drawing.
 Alternator control panel shall be connected as per approved drawing and
manufacture recommendations.
 Cable connection between alternator, control panel and Emergency panel
shall be done as per approved drawing
 Required power and control termination shall be terminated as per approved
drawing.
 After inspection of DG set proper care will be taken to protect the unit from the
dust by suitable covering and shall be further released for testing.
