1. Describe the concept of Managing the Resort.

 Resort management involves overseeing lodging operations, recreational facilities and


food services.
 A resort is a full-service lodging facility that provides access to or offer a range of
amenities and recreation facilities to emphasize a leisure experience.
 Resort serves as the primary provider of a guest experience, often provides service
business or meetings, and are characteristically located in vacation oriented-setting.
2. What are the minimum qualifications for a lodging operation to be categorized as a
hotel/resort?
1. Provide one signature amenity or anchor attribute
2. Provide five secondary recreation/leisure/entertainment experiences
3. Provide one full-service food and beverage outlet
4. Bed-base must include short-term or overnight lodging.
5. Minimum of 25 rooms or other accommodations.

3. What are the Issues and concerns of Human Resource Management and describe each.
 Assessing – Assessing personnel needs
 Recruiting – recruiting personnel
 Screening – screening personnel
 Selecting and hiring – selecting and hiring personnel
 Orienting – orienting new employees to the organization
 Deciding – deciding new compensation issues

4. Describe the process of staffing, Screening & Selection.


 RECOGNIZE– recognized that all personnel whether they are heading up your
organizations annual fund-raising drive or lending a hand and have impacts on the
group’s performance
 USE – use an application form that covers all pertinent areas of the applicant’s
background
 ENSURE – ensure that screening process provides information about and individuals
skills attitude and knowledge
 TRY – try to determine if the applicant or would be volunteer is interested in the
organization for legitimate reasons or primarily for reasons that may advance
organization cause
 Objectively evaluate prospective employees and volunteers based on criteria establish
in the organization jobs specifications
 Be realistic in putting together volunteer work force
 Recognize the would-be volunteers and employees bring both assets and negative
attribute to organization, non profit groups should be flexible in accommodating those
strength and weakness.
5. What is the purpose of having a sound Wages & Salary Administration?
 To attract and retain the service of employee
 To pay employees according to the content and difficulty of the job
 To reward employee according to the effort and merit
 To improve employee morale and productivity
 To satisfy employee as to how and why they are paid
 To facilitate psy roll administration, budgeting and wage & salary control

6. From your point of understanding what are the some of the Productivity Issues that affects
Employees Productivity?
 For my point of view, as an owner or a manager of the company or a business
establishment, the following are the major cause causes of productivity issues
1. Lack of Acknowledgement
2. Lack of Communication and Relationships
3. Lack of Proper Supervision
4. Lack of Proper Work-Life Balance
5. Inadequate Training
6. Level of Support in Their Growth
7. Poor Work Delegation
8. Inadequate Technology

7. What do you think is the reason / cause(s) for an employee turnover in any hotel/ resort
organization?
 For my point of view, the reason that cause(s) for an employee turn over its because,
1. Unclear job expectation
2. Lack of flexibility
3. Toxic or unhealthy work environment
4. Inefficient communication
5. Lack of recognition
6. Minimal growth opportunities
7. When employees leave, valuable knowledge is lost and even guests may follow
the departing employee.
