It is my privilege to enthusiastically recommend Harshita Masand for an internship in Canada

through the MITACS Research Internship program. I know Harshita because she worked in my
lab for one summer on a research project. I gave her some background reading at our first
meeting. By the time of our second meeting she had read what I had given her and prepared a
four-page project description. This level of effort is typical of a good student who joins my lab.

During her time in my lab, Harshita demonstrated a good work ethic and interpersonal skills.
We outlined a scope of work to be completed, and she successfully completed that work in the
time required. She put in extra hours as necessary in order to meet specific deadlines. I teamed
her up with another student to work on the project. She seemed to work well with the other
student, and I found her very personable. Harshita put in sufficient work to be a co-author on the
final report. She was awarded the ‘Undergraduate Research award’ for her substantial
contribution to the project.

I have no doubts as to Harshita’s very strong desire to participate and excel within your offering.
I have observed her skills at networking with her peers and her professionalism in the laboratory
setting. These will serve her well in being an immediate productive asset throughout her
internship

I strongly feel Harshita would make a dynamic contribution to your program. She would be an
excellent representative of the best that IIT Bombay has to offer.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rajiv O. Dusane
