INTRODUCTION

1.1 INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Textile Management System is designed to allow the industry to keep track of all
employee details, textile details, product details, banquet details and agent details. It keeps
tracks of active employees as well as employees who have left the textile industry. The
Textile Management System includes Front Office Module, Back Office Module, Human
Resource Management Module, and Accounts Module. This will help authorized user to
insert, delete, update or view the various records related to employees, products and many
more details. This makes the software flexible to use.

The Textile Management System is end user application software. The textile system
we are designing that helps the textile company to handle those task that had been handled
manually. The tasks are

 Keeping record of raw material purchased.

 Gives and stores details of suppliers.
 Keeping record of stock available.
 Maintaining record of customers.
 Stores record of order placed by the customers.
 Gives details of orders to be processed.
 Gives information about orders that are completed.
 Gives information about uncompleted orders.
 Displays payment status of customer’s order like total amount to be paid
advanced paid by the customer, balance amount.
 Generates billing information.
 Stores employee information.
1.2 MODULES OF THE PROJECT
The project comprises eight modules such as,
 Order Receiving
o All the order details like order number, date of receiving the order,
country, date of delivery, qty, price, contact person.
 Sampling
o The details of all sample goods sent to the concern and get approval
contains data like quality of the goods, tape measures, box measures
and cover measures.
 Purchase
o The details of the raw materials are recorded, the data quantity, quality,
purchase amount and date of the goods.
 Processing
o The daily amount of goods processed details
 Production
o Amount of raw material usage, wastage of raw materials verified
mentioned in the sampling module.
 Warehousing
o Transport and stores the products are maintained in this module.
 Shipment and Billing.
o Cargo, container, transporting details, travelling distance and date of
delivery the products.
2. SYSTEM STUDY
2.1 EXISTING SYSTEM

Existing system is a manual one in which users are maintaining books to store the
information like order details, space details, shipping details, distributor details. It is very
difficult to maintain historical data.

DISADVANTAGES

The following are the disadvantages of the existing system

 It is difficult to maintain important information in books.

 More manual hours need to generate required reports.
 It is tedious to manage historical data which needs much space to keep all the
Raw material Details, Order Details under time to time process.

2.2 PROPOSED SYSTEM

 The TEXTILE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM is a software application which avoids

more manual hours that need to spend in record keeping and generating reports.
 This application keeps the data in a centralized way which is available to all the users
simultaneously.
 It is very easy to manage historical data in database.
 No specific training is required for the user to use this application. They can easily use
the tool that decreases manual hours spending for normal things and hence increases
the performance.
2.3 FEASIBILITY STUDY
The feasibility of the project is analyzed in this phase and business proposal is put
forth with a very general plan for the project and some cost estimates. During system analysis
the feasibility study of the proposed system is to be carried out. This is to ensure that the
proposed system is not a burden to the company. For feasibility analysis, some understanding
of the major requirements for the system is essential.

Three key considerations involved in the feasibility analysis are

 Economical feasibility
 Operational feasibility
 Technical feasibility

ECONOMICAL FEASIBILITY

This study is carried out to check the economic impact that the system will have on
the organization. The amount of fund that the company can pour into the research and
Development of the system is limited. The expenditures must be justified. Thus the
developed system as well Within the budget and this was achieved because most of the
technologies used are freely available. Only the customized products had to be purchased.

OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY

Operational feasibility is necessary as it ensures the project developed is a successful

one. Tests have been carried out to ensure the operational feasibility of the system. The
proposed system works efficiently and displays the information very quickly. The various
aspects of the operational feasibility are used to measure the urgency and the acceptability of
the solution that has been proposed.

TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY

This study is carried out to check the technical feasibility, that is, the technical
requirements of the system. Any system developed must not have a high demand on the
available technical resources. This will lead to high demands on the available technical
resources. This will lead to high demands being placed on the client. The developed system
must have a modest requirement; as only minimal or null changes are required for
implementing this system.
