Path to Becoming

an Agent

Matt Bowes
What does an agent do?

Agents represent professional athletes actors,

artists, etc. Agents also handle the majority of
interactions between the client and the employer.
High School

Make sure to keep your grades up and get a good

ACT/ SAT scores. This will get you into a good
college.
College

When you get accepted, make sure to get a major in

something important that an agent will need. Some
majors that could pay off are advertising, business,
and marketing.
Requirements/ Training

There isn’t specific education or training that you

need. However make sure you check certain legal
requirements in your state. These requirements can
vary between each state.
Salary

Once you find an agency to work for, your starting

salary will be somewhere near $56,000. However
most agencies have commission based salaries, so
you make the amount of money that you bring in.
Benefits

-From researching there seems to be quite a few

benefits. Most sports agency jobs require quite a lot
of travel, so you can see the whole country. Also
most of these jobs, you are able to work from home.
-You will also make good connections as an agent, so
you could possibly get a better job with better pay,
and you could maybe get tickets to different
sporting events.
