ASR 9K login procedures

1. Requirements
 Console cable

 Serial cable

 Laptop
 PuTTY application software

2. PHYSICAL CONNECTION
 Connect the console cable to the CONSOLE port of the ACTIVE control card as shown on
the photo below

  COM PORT IDENTIFICATION
I. Right click COMPUTER on your laptop
II. Select MANAGE to enter computer management
III. After the management window is opened select DEVICE MANAGER
IV. Then click PORTS in order to identify in which COM port is your serial cable
assigned as per screen shot below

3. LOGIN
 Open PUTTY application software
 Make sure your on SESSION category
 Select SERIAL login
 Assign the COM port number as the one learned from Device Manager
 Make sure port speed is 9600 as shown on the screen shot below

  Then Click OPEN on Putty
 After PUTTY window has opened press enter, then If your successfully the below
information will appear
