INFORMAL LETTER – ACCEPTING AN INVITATION

Dear Mary,

Thank you for your kind words you wrote me in your last letter. I’m sorry I couldn’t keep in touch
with you in the last couple of weeks but I am all good now. It’s really good news you’ve passed the
exam. Congratulations!

Thank you so much for your invitation to spend this summer together at your grandparents’ house. I
know that it is located in the countryside, near a forest and a lake and I just can’t wait to go there. I
hope that the weather will be warm and sunny, so that we could enjoy all the outside activities you
told me about. I look forward to the horse riding. You know how much I love horses, right?

You said I don’t need to bring many things with me. So, what should I bring exactly? What sort of
clothes should I pack? Will I need formal attires as well?

I don’t want to spoil it, but I have a surprise for you and your family. And you’ll find out about it
pretty soon.

I am looking forward to seeing you. I miss you a lot.

Love,

Monica
