INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE
APPLICATION
The unit is suitable for any application requiring manual
generation of hydraulic power e.g. control system pilots,
small actuators or calibration. The small displacement
from this compact unit will limit application in larger
systems.
The unit is suitable for use with mineral oil and other
similar viscosity fluids. Standard seals are nitrile rubber
- check compatibility for medium. If in doubt, consult
factory. For low viscosity liquids, we recommend use of
our MW series hand pumps with a poppet instead of ball
check valves, rather than the MC series.
The body is tapped M8 in two places for mounting.
These holes must not be drilled out or otherwise
modified. Where it is not possible to utilise these holes
for mounting, an optional mounting bracket is available.
Mounting orientation must be as shown below because
of the necessity to keep the pump inlet flooded.
MATERIALS
We offer two versions: The MC-O series compact pump is
manufactured in carbon steel, bronze and stainless steel.
The MC-3 series compact pump includes a 316 stainless
body and small amounts of 302/303/304/420/431
stainless and CW307 bronze.

CONNECTIONS
Make connection to the outlet port with 1/8 NPT adaptor
or fitting. Where a pressure gauge is required, this can be
mounted into the outlet line using a tee. 3 or 4 way valves
can also be fitted. Contact the factory.
COMMISSIONING
Fill reservoir. Operate hand pump and prime system.
Follow instructions of hydraulic cylinder manufacturer
as applicable to bleed air from system. Pressurise to
maximum pressure. Check for leaks in the system. Set
relief valve (if fitted).
MAINTENANCE
The inlet strainer is easily accessible for cleaning. The
inlet and outlet check valves are also easily serviced.
Seals are easily replaced using standard tools. Service
kits are available.
SAFETY
This pump is a component forming part of a hydraulic
pressure system. The system should be designed ,
operated and maintained in accordance with statutory
requirements and other relevant instructions.
