my teacher says
your family es all the people you belong with.
grandpa and I belong together. we even have the same name.
First, I draw the people who live with me. Mom es the person who mostly care of me .
My big sister, Alexis, is the person who mostly bosses me around. Our cat´s name
Tiger. Mom says pets are family too.
My dad helps take care of me when I visit him on weekwnds.
Mom and Dad used to be married. Now they are divorced.
Sometimes haring divorced parents makes me sad, but Grandpa says Mom and Dad
love me so much thy share me.
I know all about sharing. I share my dad with my stepmom, Susie, my stepbrother,
Erick, and my stepdog, Spike.
"steps" get added to your family when one of your parents gets remarried.
Sometimes brothers and sisters are a doog thing. You always have someone to play
with when you´re bored.
Other times they´re not so great, like when Erick licks the frosting on my birtday cake.
Dad says that his little brother used to lick the frosting on his birthday cake, too. Dad´s
little brother isn´t little anymore. He grew up and turned into my uncle Joel, but he still
likes to lick frosting.
Uncle Joel and his wife, Aunt Kris, wanted to have a baby, so they decided to adopt
one. Adopt means that specially picked out a child who was already born. They got a
really good baby all the way from Korea. Now he´s my cousin Ben.
Grandma Jean goes next to Grandpa in my picture. I´m lucky they live close by. The
three of us like to visit the park and the zoo. When we go to the zoo, I like to watch the
monkeys most of all.
I have another grandma, too. I call her Nana. She lives for away, so I don´t see her very
much. Nana sends me email almost every day. Mom helps me write back.
At school, Mr Gomez hangs up all the pictures. He wants us to see how different
families can be. I like my picture best, because it is full of everyone I love.
