Gantt Chart is a table of activities which you intend to plan to complete over period of 7 mths (Jan-Jul). This can be done
neatly using Spreadsheet e.g. Excel or Word Doc by creating a Table of activities and indicating the timeline bar
needed for each activity. NB. Please don’t forget to indicate legend as well as reason to support why actual timebar is
not meeting planned schedule.

Mind Map is a diagram used to represent ideas and arranged around a central key word such as theme or areas of interest. The
various ideas or elements are linked together using line branches and classified into groups based on similar relationships. NB.
Initial Central Lines from theme is thicker and should radiate into thinner line branches from the centre.

Analysis of theme by Survey
Survey is the Gathering of information based on user needs, esp
important for product design . In this case the user can gather
essential attributes from the theme. Another useful analysis tool
is PIES which is similar in gathering of information.

In selecting a situation to work on, it is critical to evaluate

the choice made using criteria statements to allow users
to compare the different needs of each situation.Each
criteria if fulfilled by the situation will be given a score and
the accumulated score will help user to establish which
situation is more feasible to proceed.

The design brief will be stated in 1-2 lines to outline the focus of the design task to fulfill the

allow types of users to provide purpose of the product in relation to theme.”
 Design Consideration and Specifications
Design Considerations is self analysis e.g. 4W1H needed to establish different specifications which is in a form of a list of 8-10
statements. Scope of specification needs to cover quantitative or qualitative factors: function, appearance, durability, material,
ergonomics,social & environmental implication(whereas possible), ease of production, maintenance, ease of usage & making,
end-user, strength.
