August 2016 to Present
• Maintained my teaching position with title of dean of 12th grade students. I supported seniors and juniors by supporting
with grade improvement, applying to college and universities, and meeting A-G requirements.
• Brought mental health support for the entire school of 740 students by partnering with the National Alliance of Mental
Illness to present to students.
• Collaborated with administrators, head counselor, and lead teachers in developing interventions for student support.

academics and mental health

behavior, academic performance, and peer influences.

empowerment group over a 6-week period.

• Received monies from writing LA County of Mental Health grant to develop and provide a community event

• Designed and implemented school wide program for 740 students and 62 staff to build positive relationships
between students and adults on campus.
• Designed group implementing mindfulness techniques to support 25 students with self-identified anxieties.
• Received monies from writing Long Beach Unified School District grant to expand career links between the
school counseling staff and CTE teachers.
• Collaboration with teacher and administrative colleagues in developing a school wide program for warm and

• Designed and implemented interactive science units with culturally, socio-economically, and cognitively diverse
groups of science students.

• Co-leader for Students Run Los Angeles (SRLA), supporting students in teachers in training for and completing
the Los Angeles Marathon in March 2013 and March 2015.
• Co-coach for both the track team at Hawthorne High school in 2015 and then the girls’ soccer team at McBride
High School in 2016.
• Coordinated trip to Yosemite for the senior International Baccalaureate (IB) students at Hawthorne High School
in May 2015.

AWARDS
College and Career Readiness Center Improvement Grant
November 2018
• In collaboration with McBride High School’s head school counselor, wrote a proposal for a grant to aid the
College and Career Center at McBride High School in improving, expanding, and enhancing career exploration
programs at McBride High School.

Department of Mental Health Grant


April 2018
• Received $5000 for writing a proposal for mental health awareness. Co-created a community wellness with the head
school counselor of McBride High School, bringing local businesses to educate the Long Beach community on health
and wellness.
