Sub :Call for written test and interview for admission to PhD programme in the School of
Mechanical Sciences at IIT Goa in Spring Semester of 2018-19

Dear Candidate,

Congratulations! It is my pleasure to inform you that you have been provisionally shortlisted for the test
for PhD programme in the School of Mechanical Sciences at IIT Goa. The written test will take place
on 29th November 2018. Candidates shortlisted based on the test scores will have an interview
scheduled on 29th and 30th November 2018. You are expected to arrive at the administrative block of
IIT Goa by 9 am on 29th November. Written exam will have two parts. The section on mathematics is
compulsory for all candidates and for the second part you will have an option to choose between
thermofluids, solid mechanics, manufacturing and industrial engineering operations research. The
details of the interview schedule will be provided once the shortlisting is completed.

Note :

1. You will have to bring all your testimonials in originals along with two photocopies and a valid
identity proof with a recent colour photograph.
2. Calculators will be required for the test and candidates are expected to bring non-
programmable calculators.
3. Merely appearing for the interview will not make you eligible for PhD programme at IIT Goa.
4. TA/DA will be paid to the eligible candidates as per prevalent rules of the institute.
5. You will have to make your own arrangements for stay at Goa
6. Request for change in venue or date will not be entertained
