MAJOR PROJECTS
1. Digitization of Light Combat Aircraft Fuselage Assemblies
Project Duration: 2 Years
The project objective was to digitize close to 2000 drawings into 3D models
and Digital drawings using CATIA CAD tool. My role was that of team
member and I joined the project when it was in its execution phase. The
project outcomes were digitized drawings of parts/assemblies, Change
Notice, Bill of Material and ‘learning points document’ derived from project
experiences of the team. I learnt a lot from this project regarding the Design
Procedure and process of freezing the design.

2. Development of the Knowledge Management software to store

Queries and Snags
Project Duration: 16-18 months
This project involved the development of an application with the help of IT
department to store the shop queries, production queries, and snags. Before
developing this application, we used to store only hard copies of these
documents and the retrieval was very cumbersome and time consuming.
Using this application we saved a lot of time and effort. Now this application
is being used across ARDC for PQ, SQ and Snag management.

3. Replacement of Larzac engine with AL55I engine in IJT-36 Aircraft

Project Duration: 6 months
Objective was to replace lower powered Larzac engine with AL550I engine.
As a Project Lead I was responsible for overall project tracking from
structure, supporting various designs and manufacturing teams and
interfacing with suppliers. Again following the concurrent engineering
concept, I was coordinating, discussing and negotiating with the other
groups.
I also coordinated with certification authorities like airworthiness and RCMA.
Ground test and flight test certification of the new engine also was a key part
of the project.

4. Design and Development of Ventral Fin of Jet Trainer Aircraft

Project Duration: 6 months

The project involved designing and developing a Ventral Fin which gives
better stability to the aircraft and improves aerodynamic characteristics.
Project activities involved requirements of specification document and
existing fin's aerodynamic data, finite element models, stress and dynamic
analysis of improved fin, installation and testing plan on aircraft,
airworthiness certification. I was involved as a member of team. My role was
to prepare the finite element models, to coordinate with the Material group
for selection of the material, and coordinate with the Analysis group for
finalization of the design. Aerodynamics group also was a key stakeholder in
the project.

5. Installation of Anti-spin Parachute for Jet Trainer Aircraft

Project Duration: 10-12 months
Objective was to install, test and commission anti-spin parachute on IJT-36
jet trainer aircraft. My role was that of a project lead from structure side. I
was involved in developing the work breakdown structure for the project and
planning for the quantum of work involved. My role comprised also
coordination with Stress, Dynamics, Aerodynamics and Material groups for
finalization of the design. I contributed to assembly shop for installation and
to testing team also.

6. Gun Installation on Light Combat Aircraft

Project Duration: 9-12 months
Objective was to install, test and commission the GSH23 Gun on Light
Combat aircraft. This was the project I handled independently. I was
responsible for developing the project management plan, project monitoring
and controlling, getting acceptance from customer. Outcomes were gun
assembly drawings, ground firing result, in-flight firing data, airworthiness
certification and user acceptance document. I organized project progress and
coordination meetings with design and manufacturing groups, conducted
periodic user reviews and feedback sessions.

7. Weight Reduction of Structure of IJT-36 Trainer Aircraft

Project Duration: 6 months
The project was to reduce the structural weight of the aircraft including
fuselage and wing. In this project, my role was the project lead from
fuselage. I was responsible to create a detailed plan, develop a project
schedule, and execute the project. Coordinating with other stakeholders such
as manufacturing groups, Generating and distributing reports related to
project progress to the management.

8. Jaguar Aircraft DARIN III Upgrade Program (Current Project)

Project Duration: 4 years
This is a complex program on avionics upgrade of Jaguar Aircraft for Indian
Air Force. project involves the up-gradation of various systems such as
Electrical Systems, Communication Systems, Software Enhancement,
Structural Modification etc. As a project manager, I am responsible for
developing a project schedule, (IOC Schedule, FOC Schedule), composing
bimonthly report for Air Head Quarter, updating regularly project dashboard,
conducting the meetings with stakeholders for project inputs. Besides,
communicating with project stakeholders and external agencies involved is a

crucial part of the project. I am involved in execution of the project,
monitoring and controlling, sorting out any issue in project team etc. Material
management is a challenging part of this program as many LRUs are supplied
from outside the country.

9. Development of CBT Package for Jaguar Aircraft (Current Project)

Project Duration: 15 Months
This project currently is under Initiating Phase. The objective of the project is
to develop a CBT package which will be used to impart the training to the Air
Force technicians on aircraft maintenance activities.
