THIS QUESTION PAPER CONSISTS OF SEVEN (7) PRINTED PAGES INCLUDING THIS COVER PAGE Page 1 of 7 CEPB323, Semester 1, 2019/2020 QUESTION 1 [20 MARKS) (a) Discuss about the meaning and basic relationships between scope, budget, schedule and quality for a construction project. Please support your answer with giving an example for each of the term. [10 marks} (&) A successful entrepreneurship is based on four (4) entrepreneurship characteristics. Explain the entrepreneurship characteristics. [10 marks] QUESTION 2 [20 MARKS) (@) Calculate the duration for installing 72 door frames if the construction historical record shows that the installation of one door frame requires 1 manhour of carpenters and only 3 carpenters are available to install the door frames who work for 8 hours per day. [10 marks} (b) Based on information given in Figure 1, determine the cost of constructing the building by using the floor area cost estimation if the cost rate for constructing the building is RM 250 per m2 and cost rate for constructing the car porch is RM 125 per m2. This would include safety considerations in every aspect, phases and stages of the project: planning, design, scheduling and budget. Explain the details of five construction safety and health impact. (20 marks] QUESTION 5 (20 MARKS) Table 2 shows the work programme of an office building construction project, which from earthworks until the works for ground floor slab. Information given in the work programme includes the activities, duration, start and end date, and budgeted costs for each of the activity. Figure 2 and Figure 3 (both in Appendix) show the S-Curve of the physical progress and the financial progress of the project, which reported until July 2017. Evaluate the performance of the project based on both $-Curves. Based on the evaluation and given work programme, recommend solutions (relates it to the suitable activities in the work programme) to make sure that the project will finish on time.
