World Health Organization (WHO) has recently declared tlre Novel Corona virurs, COVID-19 as Pandernic. Till now it
has affected 213 countries/areas/territories, inf-ected 2,471,136 people and caused 169,006 deaths' Most severely
affected countries are the U.S.A, China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain. Germany and U.K. Till date in India, it has
infected 2I 393 people including 68 I deaths.

In order to contain the spread of the virus, Haryana Government lras strengthened
the surveillance and control lneasures against the disease.

The Detailed Status of Surveillance Activity for COVID-19 as on 23"d A 2020 is

17 samples including Italian nationals were taken out of Haryana.

o Out of total 270 confirmed cases, 24 are foreign nationals i.e; l4ltalian, 6 are from Sri Lanka, I each
from Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia & South Africa and 64 are from other States (l I Uttar Pradesh, l0
Himachal Pradesh, 8 Tamilnadu, 4 West Bangal, 5 Kerala, 8 Bihar, 2Telangana, 2 Andhra Pradesh,
I Punjab, I Karnataka, I Assam, 2 Madhya Pradesh, 6 Maharashtra and 3 Jammu & Kashmir).

Major activities undertaken by the State of Haryana to control the spread of COVID-19

o State Helpline no.855889391l(Panchkula, and Faridabad district), 1075 (otherdistricts) and 108
(Ambulance services) launched which are available for 24*7 days
. The State Government notified 'The Haryana Government Epidemic, COVID-19 Regulations,
2020' under the Epidemic Disease Act 1897 on I lth March 2020.
o MHA Gol has issued orders vide no.: 40-312020-DM-I(A) dated: 24.03.2020 and order no.
40.12020 -DM-I(A) dated l4th April, 2020to take lockdown measures to prevent the spread of
COVID l9 in the country.
Six (6) labs, one each at PCIMS, Rohtak and BPS Khanpur Kalan, ESIC Flospital, Faridabad,
ICAR-National Research Center on Equines, Hisar, Kalpana Chawla Medical College, Karnal
and Transational Health Science & Technology Institute, Faridabad are already functional for
testing 0f COVID-19. Six private labs at Gurugram (Modern Diagnostics and Research Lab,
MolQ Lab , SRL, CORE and Strand lile Sciences, Pathkind Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd.) approved by
ICMR for COVID-19 testing. Establishrnent of flvc morc Government Labs in District Nuh,
Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak and Panchkula is in process.
6 Government/ Aided Medical Colleges namely I'}GIMS. Rohtak, BPSGMC, Khanpur Kalan.
Sonepat, SHKMGMC. Nalhar, Nuh, KCGMC, Karnal, MAMC, Agroha and 27 Hospitals will
have dedicated exclusive wards/blocks fbr COVID-19 patients only. ESIC Medical College,
Faridabad is under process fbr COVID-19 hospital.
All Government/ Covernnrent aided/ Private Medical Colleges in the State have been asked to
reserve at least 25% of the beds.
Isolation wards and Quarantine facilities are established as given below:
'/ 8734 Isolation beds identified in 361 government and private facilities.
'/ 17,618 Persons Quarantine facility identifled in 5254 rooms/dormitories.
Advisories issued:
'/ For identification of isolation, quarantine and ventilator facilities.
'/ For Sample collection and patient management, infection prevention, dead body
management.
'/ For Social distancing like to stay at horne for chitdren <10 years of age and Senior
Citizens.
,/ For disinfection of offices and work fiorn horne for employees.
./ Elective surgeries including dental procedures postponed
'/ OPD of Dermatology (Skin) Eye, Orlhopedics, Surgery, Physiotherapy, Psychiatry and
Dental etc. have been suspended.
