About the Role
**************

The (Senior) Director of Computational Drug Design will work across multi-disciplinary teams to apply computational
chemistry and biology techniques to inform and advance small-molecule and biologic drug discovery programs. As a
member of the overall Computational and Data Sciences leadership, you will both lead a team of computational
chemists and biologists and directly contribute your expertise to drive the continued development and use of our
core AI-based platforms for accelerated and differentiated drug discovery.

You'll do…

Apply structure-based and ligand-based drug design methodology to drive drug discovery program initiation
and progression
Lead the direction and development of novel AI/ML-driven methodologies for biomolecular modeling
Work as a partner in the discovery and translational science teams to drive data-driven decision making
Use advanced AI/ML techniques involving both structure-, ligand- and phenotype-based modeling techniques
to solve the multi-dimensional optimization problem of drug candidate design and optimization
Identify and implement new computational chemistry and molecule modeling methods and apply them in our
drug design and development process
Work with some of the world's leaders in the application of AI/ML techniques to develop in silico drug design
loops involving target-ligand binding, structure-based modeling, ligand-based modeling, molecular dynamics
simulation, virtual screening, library design, and ADME and toxicity modeling

You Bring…
*****************

Ph.D. in computational chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related scientific field with a
computational focus, plus 8-10+ years of industry experience
 Demonstrated track record of applying in silico techniques to drive drug discovery projects in drug discovery
A comprehensive understanding of data mining and visualization, ligand and structure-based design,
conformational analysis and pharmacophore optimization
Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of modern drug discovery including medicinal chemistry, DMPK
principles and multi-parameter optimization
Demonstrated experience functioning within strong multi-disciplinary project teams
Demonstrated experience in complex problem solving through in-depth analysis of data
Extensive experience with ligand- and structure-based chemical and biologic design
Programming experience (Python, R, Matlab) is a plus
Applied experience and/or theoretical understanding of AI/ML techniques is a plus
