RCSB PDB
“STRUCTURE OF THE
HUMAN TELOMERASE
THUMB DOMAIN”
27-12-2018
Introduction
The Protein Data Bank (PDB) is a database for the three-dimensional
structural data of large biological molecules, such as proteins and
nucleic acids. The data, typically obtained by X-ray crystallography,
NMR spectroscopy, or, increasingly, cryo-electron microscopy, and
submitted by biologists and biochemists from around the world, are
freely accessible on the Internet via the websites of its member
organizations (PDBe,[1] PDBj,[2] and RCSB[3]). The PDB is overseen
by an organization called the Worldwide Protein Data Bank, wwPDB.

X-ray diffraction: X-ray diffraction (XRD) is one of the most important non-
destructive tools to analyze all kinds of matter—ranging from fluids, to
powders and crystals. From research to production and engineering, XRD is an
indispensable method for materials characterization and quality control. Rigaku
has developed a range of X-ray diffractometers, in co-operation with academic
and industrial users, which provide the most technically advanced versatile and
cost-effective diffraction solutions available today.
