This will insert a timeline into your WordPress post. Note: this will not work on the apps, so you need to choose open in mobile web when posting.
1. Get the Timeline template here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pHBvXN7nmGkiG8uQSUB82eNlnL8xHu6kydz H_-eguHQ/copy 2. Do not change any headers, columns, or leave any blank rows 3. You can replace the filler text with your own info 4. You don’t have to put a time if you don’t want to 5. You can choose the start and end date on the same date 6. If you want a different date to display, enter it in the Display Date column 7. You can hyperlink your timeline images by using the linked HTML code in the caption - this can link to anything: a story, a PDF, another site, etc. 8. You can change the background color in the last cell 9. Stop here for now. The plugin isn’t live on your site yet. 10. When the Timeline is ready, go to File>Publish to Web 11. Click the blue publish button and then OK 12. Close the 'Publish to the web' window. 13. Copy the URL for your Timeline from the browser's address bar. It should look something like this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xuY4upIooEeszZ_lCmeNx24eSFWe0rHe9Zdq H2xqVNk/edit#gid=0 Disregard the URL that appears in the "publish to the web" window. 14. Go to your WordPress post and use this shortcode: [timeline url="YOURGOOGLEURLHERE"] 15. Make sure you choose open in mobile web! 16. Publish post 17. Anytime you make a change to your Google doc, it will automatically update on the timeline.
