Kirat Desh is the oldest known name of Tripura.

During British rule, there were two main regions of the state–
Hill Tiperra and Tiperra District with headquarters was
Comilla. Most of the region of present Tripura is of Hill Tiperra
while the Tiperra District went to Bangladesh.
Neer Mahal is the only Water Palace of North East India. The
only other Water Palace in India is the Jal Mahal of Jaipur,
Rajasthan.
