LET’S RECALL

 Nouns are names of people, places,animals and things.

 Nouns are also called naming words.

 A noun that gives a common/general name to people, animals, places,

things which are of the same kind is called a common noun.

 It does not begin with a capital letter.

 They are only capitalized when they are placed at the beginning of a

sentence.

 Common nouns may be singular or plural.

 For example: doctor, snake, school, book

 A noun that gives a special name to a particular person, animal, place or

thing is called a proper noun.

 It always begins with a capital letter.

 Proper nouns are always singular.


 For example: India, Lotus Temple , The Bible, The Times of India

Underline the Common Nouns and circle the Proper Nouns in these
