Dear Administration,

It is my great pleasure to recommend Esther Mead for a position in your district. Esther
completed her student teaching in my classroom from August – November 2019 and was
then hired as an Instructional Assistant in our building. Through this interaction I came to
know Esther as a person and as a professional and to witness her positive impact on
students and on her colleagues.

Esther is a gifted and quite reflective teacher. She is intuitive and quick to assess where
student needs are present, and her lessons are creative and effective. Struggling students
flourished under her care and those who were ready for more were challenged. While
student teaching, she effectively planned and executed whole group and small group
lessons, used data to inform instruction, and assessed progress, adjusting accordingly.
Esther facilitated student growth while also helping children gain confidence and
independence. Esther naturally engages children and is particularly well equipped to
facilitate Social Emotional Learning.

Esther is very skilled at building relationships with students; they know she truly cares, she
redirects them when necessary, and she is respectful of them as people. She has high
expectations for herself and others, yet constantly conveys compassion and is always
positive and encouraging. She is equally accomplished at building relationships with
colleagues and contributing to the overall mission, vision, and positive culture of the
building.

In my experiences with Esther, she is always reliable, high-achieving, and in pursuit of

excellence in all that she does. Her exemplary work ethic and positive attitude are beyond
compare. She has much to offer your district as both a person and a professional and would
be a great addition to your staff.
