Duterte is the best President

The Philippine Republic had suffered many political dynasties. Most of the

President’s of the Philippines had been one of those families who had already

established their names in political dominance which made way to get the public's

vote undoubtedly. This resulted to abuse of power and corruption in government

but one had out stand and won several hearts of the Filipino Citizens for being such a

strong leader to easily produce a well behaved city which is Davao. President Rodrigo

Duterte, the 16th president of the Philippines also known as Davao’s former Mayor

for 7 consecutive terms for 22 years has proven great leadership skills because of his

performance as Mayor in Davao. The citizen of Davao itself is the main evidence why

he was still their Mayor before then. President Rodrigo Duterte had always had his

campaign on war on drugs, seeing him in a much impudent manner every time he

tackles the current situation within the campaign. Yes, he may be rude, direct and his

mouth is one of his biggest liabilities. No dignified world leader would dare speak

with a foolish mouth in front of live television. Yet he does and gives himself a bad

name in the process but yet he never was a hypocrite. He only wants the best for his

country and if badmouthing is the only way for Filipino’s to obey the he will. People

won’t see this because Filipino’s had lived in blaming every single President in every

wrong aspect they see. Nevertheless he does not want to be ill mannered just

because he wanted to but because Filipino’s are stubborn citizens who always had

multiple complaints but do not comply the Philippine Law. He’s also a leader who

refuses to submit to the will of the oligarchic elite, which puts him at odds with the

liberal elite faction of our government. He is the most outspoken and he gets his
way. He also has his strong commitment to uplift our national infrastructure. He

shines as a decisive decision-maker, fights drugs and corruption, fires govt officials &

etc. Too see much of the clear picture President Duterte had achieved the following

within his term: Bloody war on drugs, a “relentless” anti-drugs campaign, Tax

reform law, primarily a revenue-generating measure to fund the administration’s

infrastructure program, health, education, and social services programs,

Bangsamoro autonomous region and government, the signing then ratification of

the Bangsamoro Organic Law, Universal health care,a campaign promise to give the

poorest Filipinos access to hospitals and medicines, Free college education, free

tertiary education law, Cutting red tape, reduced processing of government permits

to 3 days & many more. Duterte had accomplished quite a lot for the ordinary

people to have faith in him through thick and thin. They may not be

accomplishments everyone can feel, but they gave us a glimpse of what government

action feels like. He wanted to show everyone that he puts action into his words. Not

every promise he made was accomplished yet he still proved his competence. He is

the best President the country has ever had who was brave enough to fight

corruption and spill the names of strong political people’s involved with it. Our

country has worsen its state because of the current pandemic which is the Covid-19,

an infectious airborne disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome. The

President had difficulty handling this since this is an actively ongoing problem for the

government. Several people had died because of the disease and yet the root of the

cause is nowhere to be seen. Duterte decided to quarantine the people yet they still

disobeyed resulting to more cases of the disease. This has lead to an online outrage

and frustration for President Duterte’s incompetence handling the whole country.
Regardless of what people say President Duterte had remained calmed and stills find

further solutions for citizens complaints. COVID-19 is doing economic damage to the

Philippines. The economy had gone down and many Filipino’s lost their jobs because

of the lockdown limit the government has made. As the crisis continues, Duterte’s

popularity and legacy could well suffer major damage. It has chipped away at

Duterte’s claim to competence and of being a man of the people. He know then

decided to give people amelioration in order for them to survive the pandemic while

having no availability of jobs. He also ordered LGU’s to give citizens food donations

every week. He gave reasonable restrictions in order for people to still go to their

jobs. He may be put down into pressure but he still makes his way to improve what

he has to for the people he serves for. As the pandemic worsens, Filipino’s also

worsen their attitudes towards the President. The President is the best and has not

yet gave up helping us overcome the pandemic. He still urges people to stay home as

many people has already died. The problem is not the President but the citizen itself.

The President will continue to support every needs of the Filipino’s with every single

hope he has. He may be ill mannered yet he cared, and yet he stayed with us. We

fight as one and the President is the only person we could rely on this time of

pandemic. So we must do our part because he has not yet gave up and still does his

best for us. He will serve us until his remaining year of his term not unless people

lost hope in him. A strong man full of his words, not perfect yet he does his job well.

Not to satisfy people but to serve people as a responsible President of the

Philippines. President Rodrigo Duterte is the best President and will continue to be

the best in every possible way he can.
