MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO.

01, S-1972

AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE THROWING OF WASTE MATERIALS, RUBBISHES,

GARBAGE OR REFUSE IN THE STREETS AND ELSEWHERE IN THE TOWN PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.

Be it ordained by the Municipal Council of Tagum, Davao del Norte, that:

SECTION 1 – It shall be unlawful for all residents of Tagum, Davao del Norte, including all non-
residents coming in or entering into Tagum, to throw waste materials, rubbishes, garbage and refuse in the
streets, on the floor and premises of public buildings of the town; and all said waste materials, rubbishes,
garbage and refuse shall be thrown into the garbage containers and receptacles, provided for the purpose.

SECTION 2. – As a corollary to this Ordinance, all motor vehicle drivers and conductors or baby
buses, TPU buses, TH Trucks, PUJ Jeeps, entering and leaving the Municipality of Tagum shall receive
instructions as to the effective compliance of the Ordinance.

SECTION 3. – Any resident or non-resident found violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall
be imposed of a fine of FIVE (P5.00) PESOS.

SECTION 4. – The Chief of Police and the Municipal Health Officer are hereby enjoined to take
charge of the rigid implementation and/or enforcement of this Ordinance.

SECTION 5. – This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
