This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this
hotfix. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply

Who Should Install This Hotfix?

Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2020.0.1 hotfix is recommended for all users. It
enhances reliability and corrects issues that you may encounter while using the
product.

This hotfix addresses a major issue in which Robot Structural Analysis 2020 will not run
or will crash on program start. This issue applies to some Single-User subscription
license users.

This hotfix may be applied to any licensed copy of Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis
Professional 2020 software installed as a stand-alone product, or as part of a suite on a
64-bit OS.

To download and install the hotfix, either:


• Download and install the hotfix using your Autodesk Account.
To install the hotfix from your Autodesk Account, follow the instructions below.
1. Make sure Robot Structural Analysis Professional is not running.
2. Sign in to your Autodesk Account.
3. Click the Management tab, and then click Product Updates.
Note: Only the most recent hotfix displays.
4. Position the cursor on the hotfix you want to download, and then click Download.
5. Open the downloaded
Robot_Structural_Analysis_Professional_2020.0.1_hotfix.msp file.

• Download and install this hotfix directly from your product through the Autodesk
Desktop App.
The Autodesk Desktop App is installed by default with Autodesk Robot Structural
Analysis Professional 2020.
Update from the Autodesk Desktop App:
1. When the hotfix becomes available, the Autodesk Desktop App displays a
notification on the system tray.
Note: You can also check for updates manually:
• On the system tray, right-click the Autodesk Desktop App icon.
• On the shortcut menu, click Check for new updates.
2. Launch the Autodesk Desktop App and open the Updates tab, a notification
displays the relevant details about this hotfix.
3. Click Update to download and install the hotfix on your computer.

Apply This Hotfix to a Standalone Installation

Follow these instructions to install this hotfix on a single computer.


1. Download this hotfix and save it to any folder.
2. If required, insert the product media (for example, the Autodesk Robot Structural
Analysis Professional 2020 installation disc).
3. Find the folder where you saved the hotfix and double-click the MSP file.

Apply This Hotfix Through a Local Network

Follow these instructions to install this hotfix on multiple computers using your local
network.
1. Download this hotfix and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
2. Find the shared folder where you saved the hotfix, and double-click the MSP file.

Note: Installation through your local network using the CAD Manager Control Utility is
not supported for this hotfix.

Apply This Hotfix to a Network Administrative Image (Deployment)

The following distribution method applies only to administrative images created with the
Deployment wizard.
1. Navigate to the folder where the deployment is saved.
2. Open the Tools folder under the Deployment folder, and launch the “Create &
modify a deployment” setup.
3. Follow the Install Deployment wizard with default settings, and click Create. Then
click the Add Updates button.
4. In the Autodesk AppModeDeployment Updates dialog box, click UPDATES, and then
the Add button to the hotfix that you want to add. Make sure the Status has
changed to “Included” and the Add button becomes Remove. Then Close the dialog
box.

Note: When the hotfix is included in a deployment, the deployment will install the
hotfix.

Uninstall this Hotfix

Windows 7 / Windows 10
1. From the Start menu (Windows), click Control Panel.
2. Click Programs and Features.
3. In the Programs and Features window, in the left pane, click View Installed Updates.
4. Find the appropriate hotfix in the list of updates. Click Uninstall.

Primary Issues Resolved by Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2020.0.1
Hotfix

The following defects have been fixed in this hotfix:

General Issues
• Fixed an issue in which the program could crash on start for some Single-User
subscription license.

Reinforced Concrete Design


• Corrected an improper calculation of the safety factor for slender columns for ACI
318-14 and ACI 318M-14 design code.
• Fixed an issue when generating multi-threaded calculation for the Reinforced
Concrete columns.

Steel Connection Design


• Fixed an inconsistency between values and units in open dialogs when changing the
Regional Setting in Preferences.
• Corrected column web tensile resistance calculations for fixed column bases of
rectangular tube columns.
• Corrected anchor shear capacity calculation according to the CEB provisions for fixed
and pinned column bases.
• Modified effective anchorage depth calculations for fixed and pinned column bases so
that grout layer thickness is now considered.

Steel Design
• Corrected the unidirectional pipe verification method when, in some locations, bi-
directional bending was checked.
• Corrected the nominal strength for tension flange yielding procedure in American
standard ANSI/AISC 360-10.
