and lead management groups, and to drive the changes required for instance, to implement new
world-class employee screening and training systems. Finally because the competitive landscape
is changing so quickly and new technologies are being continually introduced, the HR manager
needs learning proficiencies. He or she must have the ability to stay abreast of and apply all the
new technologies and practices affecting the profession. The fact that top management does
understand the strategic benefits of a well-designed HR program will make the HR manager’s
job somewhat easier.
