Re: Definition of the correct use of the POLICY category

We hereby inform you on the importance of the correct use of the "Policy" category during compilation of
the Warranty Claim on the MERLO SAV-System.

This category must only be used following MERLO authorization for all operations not provided for by
the standard warranty conditions.

This category comprises:

• Warranty Authorization
• Extra warranty period interventions that have to
be accompanied by appropriate MERLO
documentation.

Any other exceptions, with respect to the above, must always be agreed upon with MERLO

_ATTENTION_
Please note that the execution of an intervention through Service Bulletin and Technical Information
will NOT be recognized in any Warranty Claim, unless specifically authorized by MERLO. In this case,
as described above, it must be entered in the "P - Policy" category, regardless of the warranty period in
which the machine is placed.

_IMPORTANT_
Please note that the remaining available categories are subject to the following:

D - Pre-Delivery Intervention before delivery to the customer and within 70 working hours of
the machine
W - Standard Intervention performed in the standard warranty period
X - Extended Intervention performed in the extended warranty period
T – DEMO Intervention on a demonstration machine, in the period before delivery to the
customer and within 300 working hours.
F – ATP campaign Intervention related to the ATP Campaign
R - Spare Parts Intervention related to Merlo spare parts

_NOTE_
It is very important to select the correct category, as MERLO uses this data for statistical purposes, with
the ultimate aim of improving the Product. In the event of an incorrect selection on your part, MERLO
reserves the right to refuse the Warranty Claim.
