Investigate about the History of the Dominican Republic during the visits of Spanish
to the island of La Hispaniola. Write a short text describing the arrival of conquerors
to the island. Include how you think people felt with those foreigners interfering in
their lives, mistreating them, and also taking their richness.
The story of the discovery of the new world begins with the ships of the Spanish to the
new world (Saint Domínguez), believing the foreigners who had arrived in india, but
they were never more wrong. They had arrived at an island which was inhabited by
indigenous people, these were shocked with the arrival of these foreigners, they were
curious and somewhat fearful when seeing these great ships, their weapons and the
type of clothing of these men, all this very strange for they, but even so they decided
to accept them in their lands (they had no other option, since those foreigners seemed
superior in terms of weaponry), these foreigners were looking for new lands, wealth
and other things, which they found on this island, but as always not all parties are
satisfied, the indigenous people were very bad when these foreigners began to take
their gold, take their wives and other things. The indigenous people, already tired of
the abuse of foreigners, decided to reveal themselves and fight for their freedom.
Unfortunately, they did not emerge victorious from this battle, thus emerging the
races that exist today (mestizos).
