It is, therefore, my pleasure to welcome you to IIM Indore and invite you to offer internships to our IPM students next summer: Prof. Himanshu Rai Director 11M Indore DEAN (PROGRAMMES) IMONIAL ‘The 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) at IIM Indore is a unique course that aims to provide a strong foundation in basic disciplines of management studies including social sciences, quantitative studies and economics in the first three years subsequent to which participants are integrated with those from the Master's course in Business Administration, IIM Indore aims to create socially conscious managers and leaders for the industry and the IPM contributes significantly towards this Mission, As part of the graduate degree, IPM participants are required tocomplete asocial internship with Non-Governmental Organizations, CSR departments of the industry, Academic institutions or Developmental organizations. It is a quintessential integrated programme that aims at holistic development of students who have the potential to be the socially sensitive and environmentally conscious managers and leaders. IPM admits around 120 students from diverse backgrounds to undergo a 5 year programme that presents a multitude of opportunities for students to learn, grow and develop with the help of the mentorship of professors, peers and industry practitioners. A key objective of the programme is to create contextually relevant and socially conscious managers and leaders. One of the many ways in which the students of IPM get the desired exposure to be contextually relevant and socially consciousis through social internships. These internships are undertaken with the aim of understanding the issues besetting the society so that the future managers can make sustainable choices and decisions, and play a positive role in fulfilling their responsibility towards society and the environment. The internships have the potential to develop a strong motivation in the participants to work towards creating more sustainable businesses and socially responsible organizations. The participants get the opportunity to engage with NGOs, social organizations, CSR wings of companies and research institutes and work closely on a particular issue of interest.
