If you've downloaded this pack I can assume a couple things about you:
2. You probably are struggling with a consistent way to get high-paying clients
3. On the list of your favorite things to do, client getting is probably down towards
the bottom
Good.
In the 10 years that I've been playing this professional writing game I have tried
EVERYTHING...
... And I do mean EVERYTHING to get the right kind of clients in a predictable and
consistent manner.
I’d like to try and transfer that decade of experience and hard lessons learned into
this PDF as best I can so you can avoid the mistakes I’ve made.
Here's a few things about client getting that I hope you'll take to heart before you
start shooting off outreach emails to strangers:
● If you don't care, neither will they. Make sure that you are in a writing
specialty and a niche that excites you because when it comes to the high-end
clients who pay their writers well (forget about Upwork that place is awful)
they can spot the people who don't care from a mile away.
● No client on the face of this earth is excited to part with their money.
Make sure that whatever it is you offer that you do a good job, you meet
your deadlines, and you give full value for the money you've been paid.
Writing teachers who claim "easy money" opportunities clearly aren't working
in today's marketplace. I am. Freelancing is still the majority of my income.
In today's world having your act together goes a long way.
● Prospective clients are as afraid of you as you are of them. They are
afraid of being ripped off, lied to, paying for low-quality, and being taken
advantage of. Your job isn't to try to sell anyone your services but instead to
assure them that you will take care of their writing and communication
needs… and most importantly… that you will take of THEM as humans.
Approach the cold outreach process with this in mind and I can PROMISE you
will land high-paying clients with the emails I provide below.
In short, be a good human and these templates will take care of the rest.
If your plan is to swipe these emails and use them to manipulate, lie, take client
money and not deliver product etc. I would rather you don't use my templates.
They are effective, they work, and I frankly don't need the headache of scammers
mucking up these time-tested emails.
… The emails that you you will see below are the exact emails that I used to get
high-paying clients on a weekly basis. They have been tested, tried, and used by
many of my writing/freelancing students to land clients fast.
So again, I would ask that you respect these templates and only use them for good.
Why?
I am no lawyer but I do know to stay on the right side of the law and my general
impression of both European and Canadian laws regarding email suggest it's a
better idea to make cold outreach through LinkedIn rather than email.
Even if you AREN'T in Canada or Europe I still recommend that you test out sending
these emails to cold prospects on LinkedIn as well. It is a highly profitable and
effective method for getting into contact with people.
What I want to teach you is the simple and subtle art of serving people first (mostly
strangers) through a simple multi-touch outreach process.
With that in mind, the best place to gather prospective client emails is:
1. Google
For example, if you write for the financial advisory niche (don't know your niche?
Snag The 90 Day Writer for 93% off) then all you have to do is go to the good old
Google and type:
Click on any legitimate financial advisor’s business website from the first 3 pages.
Rinse and repeat for each city (you are writer after all… Don't limit yourself to a
single city if you can write and deliver your work from anywhere).
2. Niche directories
Go to someplace like dribbble.com and find the top designers. The ones who are the
most serious about growing their business.
Rinse and repeat for as often as you can find niche specific directories.
Please note: you will likely need the premium version of LinkedIn once your contact
outreach limit has been reached.
So, the first step of successfully using the templates I've provided you is to gather
emails of your dream prospects using the methods above.
Once you have that lucky bundle of individuals who will potentially have the
pleasure of your words rocking their business it's time to choose the right email for
what we are trying to do.
Not all emails are created equally especially when it comes to cold outreach.
What makes my emails so profitable and unique is that they require — by their very
nature — personalization (a.k.a.: you have to write real emails to real people for
this to work).
I want you to take these templates and personalize each and every one at a higher
than you think necessary level. Just a tiny bit of research on the person you are
about to send an outreach email to can make or break the difference in your ability
to make this process work.
… We are trying to use the medium of email (or LinkedIn) to establish real, honest,
legitimate relationships. The email is simply the foot in the door for real human
contact.
Please make sure that you follow closely the templated outline, but make sure that
you personalize each email. That is the key.
Use this email if you have no prior relationship with the prospect.
This email is incredibly powerful because it's not JUST an email. Please note how I
instruct the recipient of this email to watch a short video.
That video is custom created for each and every individual that I contact. No two
email recipients receive the same video.
This is an often overlooked method for establishing very powerful relationships with
prospective clients. Is it easy? Yes, you don't need to make a 45 minute video. Just
a few short comments on their specific business will do, but it does require some
work.
Very likely, this will be your highest converting cold outreach email.
SUBJECT: Hi [NAME], are you looking for help with [SOLUTION YOU PROVIDE]?
SUBJECT: Trying to connect with [NAME]
Hi [NAME],
My name is Mike and [INSERT HOW YOU HELP PEOPLE]. I’m reaching out to you
today because I noticed [PROBLEM YOU FOUND].
Are you available for a quick call [INSERT TIME AND DATE YOU WANT TO CHAT]?
I have a few more ideas I’d like to offer to help you [MAIN BENEFIT YOU OFFER].

● Make your critique/feedback video short and to the point without insulting
(nobody likes to be insulted)
Use this email to contact similar service providers within your niche.
For example, since you are a writer start looking for graphic designers, web
designers, traffic specialists, marketers, even videographers and photographers
that you could partner up with to either create a referral network or to combine
talents and skills to offer a larger package is almost always a good idea.
Hi [NAME],
It got me thinking about how you and I could potentially work together and bring in
more business if we combined superpowers.
I [SAY WHAT YOU DO] and since you [REPHRASE WHAT THEY DO] I was thinking
we could [INSERT YOUR IDEA: referral network or combined services etc.].
If you have time to chat this week I would really love to contribute some ideas. I
promise to make it worth your time.

● Make this process so crazy easy for your recipient that they have no choice
but to say yes (the more you ask them to do the less you’ll end up getting
out of the relationship)
● Don’t try to get married on the first date, instead figure out what they need
and how you might fit into their world
● Make sure you are BOTH compensated well in whatever relationship you set
up - this is not the time for falling on your sword just to be nice
Send any or both of these emails a few days after you've sent either of the above
cold outreach emails and haven't heard back from the recipient.
Personally, if I see that someone keeps following up and has a sincere interest to
work with me that means something. It's something special and intangible that
makes me think that person might be a good fit and might care more than average
about helping me.
Follow-up works.
Follow-up works.
Follow-up works.
Please Note: You may have to send multiple follow-up emails until you get a
confirmed response positive or negative. Don't assume anything until they say.
Follow-up until that point.

● Frequent follow-up = getting clients. That’s all you really need to know.
These are just a very small handful of the email communication templates that I
use on a regular basis to build and grow my own personal writing business.
The good news is that the templates you've received here are enough for you to get
as many clients as you desire.
Each of these emails is like putting a fishhook in the water. The more that are out
there the more likely you are to catch something and if you are constantly putting
hooks in the water every day you will NEVER experience famine or hunger. The
freelancers who get in trouble are the ones who wait until the last minute to
scramble client work. The ones — like me — that earn consistent monthly incomes
do so because we've established the habit of putting drops in the bucket every day.
As long as you use these emails to help and serve others I can promise that
consistent and quick application of these templates will generate you results.
I have worked with enough writers and freelancers sharing with them these exact
templates (and many more) to say with full confidence that anyone can use these
to get clients.
It's just a matter of you making the decision to do something with the tools and
knowledge you now have.
