Hello and welcome to Mike's Client Getting

Outreach Emails for Writers (who named this

product? Talk about a mouthful!).

My name is Mike (the crazy guy who refers to

his own template packet in the third person…
I am a nerd) and I want to say a massive
thank you for downloading this bundle of fast
action templates.

Our goal here together is for you to very

quickly implement and use both the email
templates that I have provided you below
along with the very simple and basic
instructions on how to turn these seemingly
simple emails into top dollar writing projects
quickly.

If you've downloaded this pack I can assume a couple things about you:

1. You are a writer (or want to be)

2. You probably are struggling with a consistent way to get high-paying clients

3. On the list of your favorite things to do, client getting is probably down towards
the bottom

Good.

You are exactly the kind of person that I LOVE helping.

You see, I have been a full-time writer for more than a decade. 8 out of those 10
years I've been fortunate enough to earn a minimum of $100,000 purely from the
client work I have received. I have been lucky enough to work with some of the top
names in the industry I am passionate about and be treated well by clients I
consider friends.

In the 10 years that I've been playing this professional writing game I have tried
EVERYTHING...

... And I do mean EVERYTHING to get the right kind of clients in a predictable and
consistent manner.

I’d like to try and transfer that decade of experience and hard lessons learned into
this PDF as best I can so you can avoid the mistakes I’ve made.

Here's a few things about client getting that I hope you'll take to heart before you
start shooting off outreach emails to strangers:

● If you don't care, neither will they. Make sure that you are in a writing
specialty and a niche that excites you because when it comes to the high-end
clients who pay their writers well (forget about Upwork that place is awful)
they can spot the people who don't care from a mile away.

● No client on the face of this earth is excited to part with their money.
Make sure that whatever it is you offer that you do a good job, you meet
your deadlines, and you give full value for the money you've been paid.
Writing teachers who claim "easy money" opportunities clearly aren't working
in today's marketplace. I am. Freelancing is still the majority of my income.
In today's world having your act together goes a long way.

● Prospective clients are as afraid of you as you are of them. They are
afraid of being ripped off, lied to, paying for low-quality, and being taken
advantage of. Your job isn't to try to sell anyone your services but instead to
assure them that you will take care of their writing and communication
needs… and most importantly… that you will take of THEM as humans.
Approach the cold outreach process with this in mind and I can PROMISE you
will land high-paying clients with the emails I provide below.

In short, be a good human and these templates will take care of the rest.

If your plan is to swipe these emails and use them to manipulate, lie, take client
money and not deliver product etc. I would rather you don't use my templates.
They are effective, they work, and I frankly don't need the headache of scammers
mucking up these time-tested emails.

And time-tested they are…

… The emails that you you will see below are the exact emails that I used to get
high-paying clients on a weekly basis. They have been tested, tried, and used by
many of my writing/freelancing students to land clients fast.

So again, I would ask that you respect these templates and only use them for good.

If you live in Canada or anywhere in Europe my recommendation is that you

massage these email templates to be used via LinkedIn instead of sending direct to
the emails of strangers.

Why?

I am no lawyer but I do know to stay on the right side of the law and my general
impression of both European and Canadian laws regarding email suggest it's a
better idea to make cold outreach through LinkedIn rather than email.

Here's the great news:

Even if you AREN'T in Canada or Europe I still recommend that you test out sending
these emails to cold prospects on LinkedIn as well. It is a highly profitable and
effective method for getting into contact with people.

And that's the point:

This is not about email.

This is not about LinkedIn.

This isn’t even about the email templates that you will use below.

What I want to teach you is the simple and subtle art of serving people first (mostly
strangers) through a simple multi-touch outreach process.

The key to making any of this work is SERVICE FIRST.

With that in mind, the best place to gather prospective client emails is:

1. Google

For example, if you write for the financial advisory niche (don't know your niche?
Snag The 90 Day Writer for 93% off) then all you have to do is go to the good old
Google and type:

"Financial advisor in [CITY]"

Click on any legitimate financial advisor’s business website from the first 3 pages.

Find their contact information.

Send them one of the emails below.

Rinse and repeat for each city (you are writer after all… Don't limit yourself to a
single city if you can write and deliver your work from anywhere).

2. Niche directories

Let's say that you write sales copy for designers.

Go to someplace like dribbble.com and find the top designers. The ones who are the
most serious about growing their business.

Find their contact information.

Send them one of the emails below.

Rinse and repeat for as often as you can find niche specific directories.

3. LinkedIn direct messaging

In some of my advanced training that I offer students we dive deeper into LinkedIn,
but for our purposes here all you really need to do is simply send any of the below
intro emails to your contacts via direct message on LinkedIn.

Please note: you will likely need the premium version of LinkedIn once your contact
outreach limit has been reached.

Don't have enough contacts?

Find niche related groups.

Be cool, make friends with people.

Send them the initial outreach email below.

So, the first step of successfully using the templates I've provided you is to gather
emails of your dream prospects using the methods above.

Once you have that lucky bundle of individuals who will potentially have the
pleasure of your words rocking their business it's time to choose the right email for
what we are trying to do.

Not all emails are created equally especially when it comes to cold outreach.

What makes my emails so profitable and unique is that they require — by their very
nature — personalization (a.k.a.: you have to write real emails to real people for
this to work).

Avoid at all costs the bulk sending of emails.

I want you to take these templates and personalize each and every one at a higher
than you think necessary level. Just a tiny bit of research on the person you are
about to send an outreach email to can make or break the difference in your ability
to make this process work.

Ignore personalization at your own peril.

We are not here to spam these poor clients…

… We are trying to use the medium of email (or LinkedIn) to establish real, honest,
legitimate relationships. The email is simply the foot in the door for real human
contact.

Choosing The Right Email To Send

(And When)
I've included a few different types of emails below that you can use depending on
what you intend to achieve.

Please make sure that you follow closely the templated outline, but make sure that
you personalize each email. That is the key.

Use this email if you have no prior relationship with the prospect.

This email is incredibly powerful because it's not JUST an email. Please note how I
instruct the recipient of this email to watch a short video.

That video is custom created for each and every individual that I contact. No two
email recipients receive the same video.

What's in the video?

Me doing an analysis or breakdown of some part of their business that I can help
them with.

Example: if I am a webpage copywriter, I will make suggestions on how to improve

their website. If I am an email copywriter, I will make suggestions on how to
improve their email, blog writer etc. etc. etc.

This is an often overlooked method for establishing very powerful relationships with
prospective clients. Is it easy? Yes, you don't need to make a 45 minute video. Just
a few short comments on their specific business will do, but it does require some
work.

Very likely, this will be your highest converting cold outreach email.

Tips For Making This Email Work

● Make your critique/feedback video short and to the point without insulting
(nobody likes to be insulted)

● Use Screencast-o-matic to create the videos

● Rely on a quality over quantity approach when considering your weekly send
volume (only send to people you REALLY want to work with)

Use this email to contact similar service providers within your niche.

For example, since you are a writer start looking for graphic designers, web
designers, traffic specialists, marketers, even videographers and photographers
that you could partner up with to either create a referral network or to combine
talents and skills to offer a larger package is almost always a good idea.

This is an effective strategy for creating streams of referrals instead of waiting

around for others to get referrals for you.

Tips For Making This Email Work

● Make this process so crazy easy for your recipient that they have no choice
but to say yes (the more you ask them to do the less you’ll end up getting
out of the relationship)

● Don’t try to get married on the first date, instead figure out what they need
and how you might fit into their world

● Make sure you are BOTH compensated well in whatever relationship you set
up - this is not the time for falling on your sword just to be nice

Send any or both of these emails a few days after you've sent either of the above
cold outreach emails and haven't heard back from the recipient.

Here's the cold hard truth about outreach messaging:

Almost nobody responds to the first email.

Here's another cold hard truth about outreach messaging:

Persistence pays off big time.

Most clients who want to hire you are simply bone crushingly busy. It's not that
they hate you, that they are ignoring you, or they think you are gross for reaching
out to them… They just have 1000 other things that are stealing their attention.

I get cold emails sent to my personal inbox every single day.

Sometimes I hire people who reach out to offer help.

Personally, if I see that someone keeps following up and has a sincere interest to
work with me that means something. It's something special and intangible that
makes me think that person might be a good fit and might care more than average
about helping me.

Follow-up works.

Follow-up works.

Follow-up works.

And it's really, really easy.

Please Note: You may have to send multiple follow-up emails until you get a
confirmed response positive or negative. Don't assume anything until they say.
Follow-up until that point.

Tips For Making This Email Work

● Assume nothing until they communicate their intentions

● Frequent follow-up = getting clients. That’s all you really need to know.

● Respect people's inboxes and follow-up with good intentions only

These are just a very small handful of the email communication templates that I
use on a regular basis to build and grow my own personal writing business.

The good news is that the templates you've received here are enough for you to get
as many clients as you desire.

The key is to not over complicate things.

Pick a time of day that you will dedicate 30 minutes to researching crafting and
sending these emails every single day. No exceptions, no breaks, and keep sending
even when you get enough of a client load.

Each of these emails is like putting a fishhook in the water. The more that are out
there the more likely you are to catch something and if you are constantly putting
hooks in the water every day you will NEVER experience famine or hunger. The
freelancers who get in trouble are the ones who wait until the last minute to
scramble client work. The ones — like me — that earn consistent monthly incomes
do so because we've established the habit of putting drops in the bucket every day.

As long as you use these emails to help and serve others I can promise that
consistent and quick application of these templates will generate you results.

I have worked with enough writers and freelancers sharing with them these exact
templates (and many more) to say with full confidence that anyone can use these
to get clients.

It's just a matter of you making the decision to do something with the tools and
knowledge you now have.
