COMMENTS :
1. We can observed that Mander’s model gives the maximum value of compressive stress
followed by modified Kent and Park model, Kent and Park model and IS 456:200
respectively.
2. As the stirrup spacing reduces the compressive strength decreases.
3. It also observed that as the amount of stirrups increases strength increases.

Comments:
1. As grade of concrete increases the curve towards right and also when grade of
steel increases the curve shift towards right.
2. But it also depends on placing of bars and diameter of bars.
3. As diameter of bars increases, with constant area of steel the capacity
increases as we can observe in case A and case B.
4. If spacing is equal between given bars then its capacity is greater than unequal
spaced bars.

COMMENTS:
1. We can observe that Modified kent and park curvaturte ductility is more
higher than kent and park and IS code.
2. As the reinforcement in tension side increases, the moment capacity of the
section increases.
3. Therefore confined concrete can more ductility than unconfined concrete.

ESA ASSIGNMENT

It is given that for various zones there is a minimum value of earthquake force which we
must consider or in other words the value of Ah should not be less than the given value

Sr. No Seismic Zone %

2 III 1.1
3 IV 1.6
4 V 2.4

And it is seen for the given case the values of Ah obtained by formula is more than the
minimum value.
