A Back to school
Craftivity

This back to school Craftivity is sure to get your new students
thinking about the positive goals for this year. This Craftivity can
be used in multiple ways, such as “Tools for a great year”, “Tools
for great behavior”, or “Tools to succeed”.
Students will write the goals / rules on the tools and place into the
tool box. This can be a great reminder throughout the school year
to reinforce these goals.
Multiple templates are included to meet your needs.
All you will need is various colors of construction paper to
reproduce the templates.
Below is how I assembled the example:
Tool Templates
The following pages are the templates to create the
craft. You can use the directions on the page or use as
needed to fit the needs of your classroom! Each tool
represents a rule or a goal. Students will write the rule
or goal onto the tool.
Hammers
h (top) – Copy onto gray paper. (one per student)
Hammers
h (handle) – Copy onto brown, manila, or yellow paper. (one per student)
Turn the handle sideways. Write your goal or rule and cut out. Paste onto the top of the hammer.
Saw (handle) – Copy onto brown, manila, or yellow paper. (one per student)
Cut out and attach with the saw template.
Saw (blade) – Copy onto gray paper. (one per student)
Cut out and attach with the saw template. Write your goal or rule onto the saw blade. Cut out and
attach to the saw handle.
Wrench – Copy onto gray paper. (one per student)
Write your goal or rule onto the wrench. Cut out and include with your other tools.
Screw Driver (handle) – Copy onto your choice of paper. (one per student)
Cut out and attach to the end of the screwdriver.
Screw Driver (end) – Copy onto gray paper. (one per student)
Write your goal or rule onto the screwdriver. Cut out and attach to the screwdriver handle.
Tool Box – Copy onto your choice of paper. (2 per student) Students will attach the two toolboxes
front and back. Teacher will staple down the sides and bottom and leave the top open for the tools.
