do and the action that will be taken if you break them.

1. The candidates must present a valid Passport/ID card on the day of the exam. The candidates that fail to
do so will not be admitted to the exam. The Passport/ID card must be the same as the one the candidate
had upon registration for the exam.
2. The candidates will not be allowed to leave the room after they have completed the check-in procedures.
All the candidates should make sure that they have been to the toilet before entering the exam room.
The candidates will only be allowed to leave the room during the exam under exceptional circumstances
and will be accompanied by an invigilator.
3. The candidates are not allowed to have mobile phones or pagers on their desks during the exam. If a
separate room is available for personal belongings, the mobiles and pagers must be left there along with
any other personal belongings that are not necessary for the exam (see rule 5). If there is no separate
room, the personal belongings including the mobiles and pagers must be left in the area of the exam
room reserved for the purpose.
4. All mobile phones and pagers must be turned off during the exam.
5. The candidates are only allowed to have their Passports/ID cards and writing utensils on their desks
during the exam. Detailed instructions on the use of equipment and materials have been outlined in the
section “Information on Entrance Examination”. The ONLY exceptions are the exams, which require the
use of a calculator or other specified material. Calculators containing dictionaries are, however, not
acceptable. If you participate in the exam, please make sure that you have a suitable calculator with you.
6. The candidates must write their names using the western alphabet on each exam sheet. The order is
Family Name, Given Name(s).
7. All the candidates must stop writing immediately when the invigilator announces that the time is up.
8. Talking to other candidates during the exam is not allowed. Cheating will not be tolerated during the
exam. Any candidate seen cheating or suspected of cheating will receive one warning from the
invigilator. If the candidate persists he/she will not be allowed to continue the exam.

Additional note

Some of the above rules refer to procedures involving the candidates’ Passports/ID cards. It is possible that
before the exam starts, a candidate’s Passport/ID card will be kept by the invigilators for the duration of
some, or all, of the exam to allow further checks on the authenticity of the Passport/ID card without delaying
the start of the exam. It is also possible that a candidate will be asked to produce a statement to prove that
his/her Passport/ID card is authentic. If this happens to you and you know your Passport/ID card is authentic,
please stay calm and concentrate on the exam.

After reading the above rules and regulations please sign the statement about complying with these
rules on the CANDIDATE IDENTIFICATION FORM.
