I. General Introduction
Creasing and Cutting Machine is Machine specially designed for

creasing and cutting various kinds of paper, leather and plastic

articles.

The machine may also be used in printing works. It puts

embossing creases on work pieces of all kinds and gives

stereoscopic and fine effect.

III. Construction
The machine consists of three main parts namely the machine

frame, the movable platen the drive system with electromagnetic

clutch and electrical controls, There are also driven by the motor

fixed at the right side of the machine through a pair of V-belt pulleys.

Through a pair of helical gears with eccentric shafts actuate two

connecting rods that impart a rocking motion to the platen to

accomplish the creasing and cutting.

1. the machine frame with the fixed platen (Fig. l)

A pair of large gears(1)are mounted on both ends of the main axle

on each gear there is an eccentric shaft the eccentric shafts actuate

the connecting rods(2)to impart a rocking motion to the platen to

accomplish the creasing and cutting function.

The fixed platen serves as the seat of the chase(3)carrying And

the cutting blades which are tightly fixed in the chase with wooden

blocks.

On the left the left and right of the machine frame there is a pair

of sliding-ways which serve as support of the curved tracks on the

movable platen.

Up on the right corner of the machine frame there is a

mechanical counter(4)which is used to count the creasing and

pressing number.

A steel plate is attached to the plane surface of the movable platen

as a support plate on which the cardboard are laid. When one side
of this steel plate is worn or tom to an appreciable extent, it may be

turned over and the other side used instead.

The eccentrics are held in position by meshing the gear teeth on

their outside diameters with those on the locating plate(7).The

distance between the fixed plated and the movable platen can be

adjusted by the adjusting handle (attachment).

The idling handle(8)is fixed on the cross rod connecting the inner

eccentrics. The distance between the platens can widened for

re-positioning misplaced work pieces by pulling down the idling

handle.

The safety guard bar(6)on the top of the platen is also actuated

by the connecting rods up-and-down automatically.

2.The clutch

There is a set of electromagnetic clutches on the main axle,

Which serves to actuate and brake the transmission shaft.

The flywheel is employed to store and release the driving effort

as well as to smooth the platen movement.

One end of the transmission shaft is made into square so that in

case the platen should be adjusted or jammed a socket

wrench(attachment)can be applied to the square head to turn the

flywheel by hand.

3.Electrical installation
The electrical cable from the power source and the electrical

appliance box are installed at rear of the machine frame. A control

operation lever(9)is located on the left side of the machine frame.

On the controlling handle are three push buttons for starting,

pressing and stopping, pushing the operation lever down-ward will

stop the rocking motion of the movable platen promptly through a

limit switch.

For the electrical circuit refer to Fig2(circuit diagram)

IV. Installation

1. The machine foundations shown in the installation diagram

(fig.3)

2. The creasing and cutting machine is packed whole in on box.

Move and open the box with care. Avoid and heavy impact that

may impair the executive of assemblage of the machine.

Opening the box, check is contents against the accompanying

the box, check is contents against the accompanying packing

right away. Clean the anti-rust grease off the machine.

3. The machine should be installed on the foundation as shown in

the installation diagram.

4. Before putting into operation. check whether the machine has

been fixed and leveled on the foundation from side to side.

5. Refit the control operation lever on the left side of the machine

frame.

6. The control transformer fitted with two kinds of input

voltage-380V, 346V is provided for users choose according to

local voltage.

V. Operation
1.Preoperative check-ups:

a. Turn the flywheel around manually for sometimes to see

whether all parts can run freely.

b. Connect the machine with power to make sure the flywheel turn
in the same direction as the turning symbol.

c. Check to see that all protective devices are tightly and reliably

mounted in their respective positions.

d. Make sure the motor and other electrical installations are clear,

dry and their insulation in proper.

e. Replenish all the oil cups and oil holes, make sure that all the

movable parts are properly lubricated. Oil the sliding-way on the

machine frame with a injection oil can.

2.Operational precautions:

a. After the power is switched on, press the starting button first.

Press the pressing button till the flywheel runs steadily.

b. Make sure the control operation lever stops the machine

promptly and the safety guard bar on the movable platen works

properly and smoothly.

c. The transmission mechanism should be in proper working

order.

d. Oil is to be replenished or applied to all the cups and oil holes

two or three times during each shift.

3.Fabricates on operation:

a. The machine must be proven in order by trial runs without load

before it may be put into operation.

b. Mount the chase which carries the blades on the fixed platen.
Cut off the power supply while mounting. checking or adjusting

the distance between the platens.

c. The distance between the platens is set upon 27nm when

delivered. The distance may be readjusted according to the

actual thickness of the cardboard in operation.

d. In operation if the cardboard is displaced or the pressed article

cannot be taken out in time, the machine should be stopped

instantly by either pushing downward the control operation level

or pressing the stopping button, or pulling down the idling

handle immediately to spoilage.

After the cardboard is set right in position or the pressed

article has been taken out, push the idling handle to its original

position.

VI. Maintenance
Troubles may occur if the machine is not properly maintained.

1. Common troubles and general remedies:

a. In operation a common trouble is the jamming of the platens.

When the jamming occurs the movable platen stops moving

and V-belts slip or the motor stops turning. The chief may be

the distance between the platens is not correctly adjusted or

the excess of cardboard, or it may be that the V-belts are

loosely mounted. In case the jamming occurs check first the

motor and the V-belts to see that they are tightened. Then try

to pull down the idling handle or apply the socket wrench

provided(the socket wrench may be lengthened with tubes)to

turn the transmission shaft till it can move smoothly. And

finally readjust the distance.

b. The jamming may also be caused by over heating of the

bearings or insufficient lubricant of the moving parts. Check

each oil channel to make sure that it is in proper order and

each oil hole and oil cup is properly replenished. If the

lubricating system is proved to be in proper order the

jamming may either be that the bearings on each moving

part are short of lubricant or that some foreign matter has got

into them. In this case the bearings should be dismounted

fox examining.

c. In case the electrical control circuit breaks down due to poor

connect or ineffectiveness of the electrical components.

Send an electrician to find out the cause and to adjust or

change certain electrical components.

2. Points for attention:

a. Observe the operational instructions.

b. All the oil cups and moving parts must be replenished with
lubricating oil frequently. This should be done not less than

two or three times during each shift.

c. Pay constant attention to the movement of the machine. If

anything seems to be unusual, stop the machine

immediately for examining.

d. Keep the machine clean.

e. Make sure the machine undergoes a thorough overhaul

every year.
