This photograph was taken at a

Witch Trial. I believe this to fit with


the ‘having been there’ theory
purely because the photograph has
been taken in the peak moment of
a trail. The photo was taken of a
specific thing, in a specific time and
place; a painting of the place would
never be the same as having all the
subjects in your camera frame. A
painting or drawing could not
recreate the same atmosphere that
the photograph gives off, because
we know this is the real thing, an
audience is more likely to feel a
deeper connection to the image
itself.
